Hi Teri,

I hope you and Jon will use this as a learning experience

not to take too seriously anything uttered by a tech or rt.

Often they don't know the whole picture, and that's not

their job anyway. They usually have just enough information

to be dangerous or misleading. I learned my lesson by

reading that my lung volumes were " down significantly "

after a spiro. Turns out I was stable, but the rt was

comparing my test to a healthy person's, not to my own

previous tests... wasted time worrying on my part.

I do feel that Jon's doc should have discussed the CT

with you, and I agree that, at this stage, every 6 months

is too long to wait between visits.

Speaking of which, I got a freebie day today at the doc -

no tests of any kind besides bloodwork. Well, I did have

to do ABGs, but it went okay. My very attentive doctor

(for now) said he'd call San to check out having

me listed there as well. I asked if a week was a reasonable

amount of time in which to expect to hear from him.

He smiled and said yes - he knows I'll seriously bug him

if he doesn't. I finally got my echocardiogram results,

which were normal - whew.

I used to live in an area where we typically killed

one Copperhead per year. I know about the rearing up

and lurching mode of those nasty critters. The vet told

us that, unlike most snakes, Copperheads will pick a

fight... so much for " If you leave them alone, they'll leave

you alone. " scaaaaaaaarrry.

Joyce D.,

I'm so sorry that you're feeling punk. I'm really frustrated

for you, and you probably feel exhausted (regardless

of how much rest you've gotten!). Sometimes rest is

overrated, and I hope you're feeling better and able to

be more active SOON!!

Jane, Sher, and anyone else who has offered support to

me in my ongoing doctor communication struggles -

THANK YOU!!

Hugs and blessings,

Gwynne IPF 7/04 listed for transplant 3/07 Texas
