Guest guest
hi, just wanted to give everybody an update - i had surgery at 700 monday morning sept 22nd - i had to get there for 530 to get ready - i'm scared to death of needles so i had EMLA creme on both hands and didn't feel a thing -- they took vitals and did paperwork - being a nurse i know its much better and saves time to already have your med list, allergies and past surgeries all typed up so i did that. then went to the OR and they put a mask on my face and said take some deep breathes and that was the last thing i remembered - they put in a catheter after i was out - TG - much better that way ---- i had a morphine pca pump so the 1st day was kind of foggy but comfortable. the next day was much better when they took everything out - i have 7 sites with steri-strips --- the center one gave them trouble bleeding and they had to hold pressure and it bruised some but dr said it was a skin bleeder and nothing was wrong inside. i have sensetive skin and the steri-strips caused my skin to blister so they said pull them off so i just did that - no biggie - actually the blisters are worse. i had no drain or anything. it has been 4 days now with being on just clear liquids and i'm not at all hungry. the hardest part now is not being able to pick up my 7 month old - can't lift greater than 5 lbs for a week at least -- that is causing some complication with hubby having to be home more than he should be but he'll get over it - he had to visit a few job sites so he just brought her with him -- if it wasn't for the itching and the blisters and being a little sore i wouldn't know i had anything done. i am wondering if i m taking in what i should - i was scared to swallow pills but haven't had trouble and i'm taking tiny sips but i was thinking i would get this water balloon feeling but haven't yet - i'll let you know how the next step goes. i brought a 8x10 pic of my family too and they hung it in the OR - dr's do make mistakes and i wanted him to have his undivided attention on my surgery and the 2 most important reasons that it had to be successful...i hope everyone else that just had surgery is doing well and i would love to know aboout stage 1 diets - are ppl on clear liquids and if so what and how much? visit our website www.geocities.com/tanyarn96/countryside.html www.poncetihomes.com
