Well not really plastic, clear tube with a rubber ball thing on the

end, called a Pratt (JP Drain). It was left in 1 week. There

was 1 stitch holding it in, he cut the stitch and just pulled it out.

Some people say it hurts them when pulled out, but if I wasnt

watching him do it I wouldnt have known he did anything! Maybe its

the way some doctors put it in and thats why it hurts? I was amazed

how long it was and how much was inside me! There was about 12 "

inside. And drainage is not slimy it was just like red water. Well at

least mine was, maybe others have the slim! No stitch after removed

just a bandade over it.

A week? How did the Dr. take it out? Didn't it require stiches

after he took it out??

Cheryl,

Mine was about the same thing as Pamela's was. It was clear plastic with

a container on the end that could equate to the 'rubber ball thing' on

the end where the liquids and other things collected inside. It has to

be emptied at least once a day and sometimes it gets " slimy stuff'

inside it but not always. Everything else Pamela said was about the

same. I wouldn't have known when he pulled it out if my husband hadn't

been standing there saying " Ooh yuck! " It didn't hurt and it wasn't

really that bad. If it hadn't been for the inconvenience of having to

pour the stuff out and having it hang out while you're taking a shower,

I wouldn't have minded it.
