Guest guest
Folks, I read in Working Mother Magazine that Guardian Life Insurance Company is offering three large scholarships ($15,000, $7,000 and $3,000) to " Girls Going Places " -- exceptional young girls, ages 12-16, whose potential to make something of themselves already shows. The application requires a 1,000 word essay -- describing how the nominee makes a difference in her community, how she demonstrates budding entrepreneurship or financial sense, and her concrete accomplishments. [i summarized this from the advertisement]. I know we have many girls in the CF community that show these qualities and I just wanted to spread the word because $15,000 is a nice big scholarship. Entries are due 9/1/00, and you may get an application by writing to: Working Woman/Girls Going Places 135 West 50th Street New York, NY 10020 or visit workingwoman.com workingmother.com or glic.com I know this is not directly CF related but I figure a girl with CF who applied would certainly have a good shot at winning and could use the money!
