Guest guest
My apologies for the confusion I have created out of my Yana site. I wanted to find some way to inform all the contributors about the changes to the site and to have some way of communicating in the future. My service provider offered that service by way of a Newsletter but to minimise the risk of Spam required that a message went out to all addressees asking them to confirm that they wanted me to communicate with them. I thought that I would be able to word this message, but found out after I had clicked “Send” that there was a standard message that said: <SNIP> Mailing List Subscription Confirmation *** Confirmation required *** You recently decided to join a mailing list. This list has a double optin feature so you must go to the URL listed below to finish joining this list. This is a safeguard for you. PLEASE CLICK THIS LINK TO AUTOMATICALLY CONFIRM YOUR SUBSCRIPTION: http://pub2.bravenet.com/elist/add.php?usernum=154144579 & action=confirm & id=4813899 This email is being sent to you because of a request to join a mailing list. If this message was sent in error, please disregard it and no further email will be sent to you on this subject. <SNIP> I’m not sure I would have responded to that message, but 25% of the addressees have so far. It is quite safe to do so and it is not a phishing expedition.
