Guest guest
MLB is one of the few sports that actually supports prostate cancer awareness. It's minimal (on Father's Day) and seems like nothing based on the awareness pink gets across the board. I've written to several teams as well and haven't received a response. It's beyond frustrating! > > > Perhaps someone can shed light on just why we can't get Baseball's > support in the fight against, Prostate Cancer. Guest guest
All clubs hold events the weekend of Fathers Day. They make the bases blue and some other minor events, nothing like this. The PCF also has a home run challenge event that has been quite successful over the years. Perhaps someone can shed light on just why we can't get Baseball'ssupport in the fight against, Prostate Cancer. I have seen teamswearing PINK, caps, helmets, gloves as well as PINK baseball bats (Beast Cancer Awareness), but never any BLUE (Prostate CancerAwareness).I've sent several emails to the, HOUSTON ASTRO's corporate office aboutthem considering support of the fight against Prostate Cancer, but they've never answered my emails or rang my phone.Am I missing something here? Arcieri = Houston,Texas -- Emersonwww.flhw.org Every 2.25 minutes a man is diagnosed with prostate cancer.Every 16.5 minutes a man dies from the disease. Guest guest
no you are not missing anything. It is just that the Breast Cancer group has marked themselves better. It is going to take a whole lot more ruckus to get Prostate Cancer noticed. And let face it males seem to not broadcast themselves. Thank you for what you are doing. Guest guest
I think you men need to get a BIG MOVIE STAR etc. to promote this...or shall we just wait until one of them gets it, and is honest enough to admit the frustration and effort it takes to deal with this disease! To: ProstateCancerSupport Sent: Thu, April 28, 2011 4:46:54 PMSubject: Re: PINK but no BLUE, at baseball games!
