Guest guest
I'm a lurker mostly adn wanted to ask some questions. i have three children. two girls who I believe have apraxia. one is almsot four, speech delays. we homeschool but she goes to local school for speech. she was a chubby baby. second daughter is 16 months old, also chubby (mostly breastfed, some solids since she turned one). and by chubby I mean-she was 35 pounds, now she is back to 32. she didnt' crawl until 13.5 months and still isnt' walking. says no words, babbles. cousin who is same age says about 30 words (very depressing to me) older children were late walkers but not this late. she has PT come to our home. he hasn't labeled her apraxic. older daughter was labeled apraxic by a speech path. could a child be apraxic with these type of characterisitcs? the 16 month old seems normal otherwise. no autistic tendencies or anything like that. I guess my question is do some of yall have children with some delays but they are so close to looking normal that it isn't so noticeable? roxanne
Guest guest
Thanks for that about your daughter! I raised 4 sons and they adored their mother and still do . This daughter experience is really kicking me emotionally! Glad it is normal....From: Lavendar And Spice <lavendarandspice@...> Sent: Tue, August 10, 2010 3:51:32 PMSubject: Re: ( ) Reintro Hi ....my daughter is 16 and we fight like cats and dogs without her having anything wrong...well, other than a mood disorder. My son and I get along great. For now anyway. That may change when he gets into his teenage years.CatFrom: sandee C <irsandee (DOT) com>Subject: Re: ( ) Reintro Date: Monday, August 9, 2010, 3:09 PM Hi Cat! My name is and i have a 15 1/2 yo daughter who likes to call herself Cat.. She is obsessed with cats and always has been. Animal science is her passion and she has always sworn she will be a Vet even though her IQ is just average and she is AS, diabetic, epileptic, dyslexic, dysgraphic, ADHD, and a mid teenaged girl which is often my biggest problem. We have been through all kinds of things with her but we hang in there. I swing from being depressed to feeling I should be grateful she is even functioning. Today she started high school in public school after 3 years in a small private special ed school. We have been in high tension, depression and bite each others heads off mode for months now as we anticipated this event. so far, so good.. It is 11:00 and the phone hasn't rung yet..
