Guest guest
Connie, the things I have to watch are (1) cream, (2) cream cheese, and (3) any other cheeses. I'm also up a lb. this am and no longer in the 170s. I made the Keto banana bread and had 3 slices instead of just one and am certain that must be what did it to me. Drats and double drats. I'll learn one day (maybe)!!!! dwen Connie Hodges wrote: I was up .5 lbs today, too, and didn't have any ham yesterday :(I had:Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled w/Monterey Jack cheese, 3 pcs baconSnack: couple pcs cheese, 1 pc baconDinner: Ribeye steak, 1 small turnip fried in butterSnacks: 1 pc cheese, 4 pcs baconDrinks throughout the day: tons of water (at least 140 oz), a Diet RC Tangerine w/heavy cream in it (that is so good!), decaf cappuccino w/heavy cream, vanilla SF syrup, & 1/2 tsp cinnamon.Maybe too much bacon or cheese or cream? I don't know. I had more bacon than usual, because I fried up a pound of it to keep in the fridge, and kept sampling it -- could it be that? Is cream something that some people have to watch? Does anyone have a problem with it? Just curious, trying to hone in on what it could be.Connie255/25l.
Guest guest
It might be the extra sodium from the bacon Connie. Some people have difficulty with cream (I think often it's just the sheer number of calories in whipping cream that comes into play). Just drink tons of water again today and it'll come right back off. Fluctuations of less than a pound aren't usually suggestive of an intolerance food, but are probably just due to differences of what's in your digestive tract from day to day and how much sodium you consumed. Guest guest
Connie, the bread is, of course, not as good as "real" banana bread. It lacks the moisture of the real stuff. It could have been a bit sweeter also. Next time, I think I'll add a tiny bit (not a whole package) of Splenda to it. It did have a crunchy crust which I liked. I tried a tiny bit of Twist on one piece. Yummy! It was a nice treat though. I tried the Carbolite bread mix week before last week and it was pretty good. It creates a "tougher" bread than we're used to eating. And, I actually liked the "soy" taste to it. My whole family ate it. So I order some more yesterday. I have been trying to cut down on some things. I have started using liquid Stevia instead of packets of Splenda in my coffee, for example. Haven't had any cream cheese in weeks. I still have to add a bit (even though I've decreased the amount) of heavy cream to my coffee. Of course, the coffee is decaf. I'm just trying to find something that will make me lose consistently, instead of having my weight bouncing around all the time. Maybe that's not possible with me. Mainly, I'm sticking with the natural foods, meats and veggies. I've used the shakes from the beginning with no problem so I haven't stopped using them. Even after a week of induction (with the exception of the banana bread), I still bounced and was even up 2 lbs. at one point before I went back down and then bounced up a lb. again this am. Sometimes, it gets discouraging, however, I keep on keeping on. dwen Connie Hodges wrote: Dwen, I have suspected in the past that cream cheese affected my weight loss, too bad, because I love it. So maybe the cream and cheese did it. I will try to watch it more closely now. Is the Keto Banana Bread good?Connie
Guest guest
Connie, It could just be the normal day-to-day fluid variances our body goes through. Don't worry about it. Just keep on going and see what happens next. I think the key for this WOE is to look for trends and not tiny, specific, incremental changes. Guest guest
Connie: It's so hard to tell from just a one day sample. My best *guess* though would have to be a combination of more bacon and cheese than you normally ingest. A.

Guest guest
I dunno, I gained 4 pounds myself, no cheating,no strange suspicious foods, it was a couple days after some major alcohol consumption (rum and diet coke) I *was* doing so very very gooood.. the only thing done differently was the rum... but I mean, it happens, and I've never gained from it before. I also notice that I forgot to take my medication for about 48 hours, during which I hit that low weight, I guess the meds could have caussed some water retention once I remembered to take them again.. (Lamisil definately causes bloating, ick) I hope, *sigh* Miserable, sorta Adria 225/162!??!/142 Connie Hodges wrote: I was up .5 lbs today, too, and didn't have any ham yesterday :(I had:Breakfast: 2 eggs scrambled w/Monterey Jack cheese, 3 pcs baconSnack: couple pcs cheese, 1 pc baconDinner: Ribeye steak, 1 small turnip fried in butterSnacks: 1 pc cheese, 4 pcs baconDrinks throughout the day: tons of water (at least 140 oz), a Diet RC Tangerine w/heavy cream in it (that is so good!), decaf cappuccino w/heavy cream, vanilla SF syrup, & 1/2 tsp cinnamon.Maybe too much bacon or cheese or cream? Guest guest
Dwen... I understand what you're going thru with the bouncing pounds. I've been going thru this since last October (though I admit to not being 100% perfect during the holidays). I've tried cutting lots of things out only to find I still bounce... so I add them back and it doesn't start an upward trend. I have lost about 40 pounds so I am just about resigned to the fact I've hit a major set point that I will just have to accept for a while. In the past two weeks I've added in a significant amount of exercise hoping it will help. Only time will tell.
