Guest guest
Thank you sweetie. You're teasing right? LOL. My favorite one is the one with a giraffe (I think) on a new baby card. I really need to get back into it. I was taking orders and selling them, but the fatigue hit, and even just sitting at the table was too much. I charged less than the stores and they were one of a kind or made to order. I'm thinking of making up a big set too send out at Christmas. I am a Christian, and these days I can't even find any cards that say Jesus or Christmas on them. ~Trista~********************************When the world says, "give up,"Hope whispers, "try it one more time." My Wonderful Marvelious Weekend I did have another unexpected visit today. 's oldest son and his children came to visit. This was nice surprise. A little background since we have many new members and bad memories. I am a 64 yr young widow with 4 birth children and 6 stepchildren, 37 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 4 sisters and about 14 neices and nephews, most with spouses and children. was my husband and he had 2 brothers with wives and children. I love them all and am close with most all of these family members. My birth children are Patience [43], she and her family live almost 300 miles away; but we are very close. Bill {my }{42 this Aug} is my only son and is 20 miles away, then there are the twins {37 this Sept}; Sheri and Teri. Teri and family live about 25 miles away and Sheri and her family live almost 400 miles away. This weekend started out Friday evening with a call from . He ask if I had eaten yet and if I wanted a sandwich. He and his youngest son came and we ate and talked. After we were finished he hinted that I would be hearing "Hi, Gramma-great" in about hour. I suspected that they were coming but did not expect them until much later. We continued out basic visit routine. And sure enough, in just under an hour beth {Patience's oldest[23 on the 24th]} and Grace E {granddaughter- great [just turned 2]} were here. She said she needed to come to her most comforable comfort zone to put some distance between herself and her current stressors so she could see the forest for the trees, and get a sensse of how she could deal with them rather than just reacting. She said just the drive and antitisipation of being here was a very big help. The timing was great for me too. These visits are always very enjoyable for me. No matter how bad I am feeling or doing it is so uplifting. beth has been coming by herself since she turned 18; sometimes as often as every or everyother month. We usually go shopping even if we do not need anything - just for the fun of it. This time it was only groceries as I needed to go but did not feel I could handle it by myself. Yes I used the electric cart. We had just gotten back to the house - not even out of the car - and my sister, Sylvia, and her dh pulled up. So we had help getting the groceries in. Charlie -bil- did the yard work. One of my nieces came over to get some plants and a large picnic table she wanted and visited for a while. Sylvia ordered pizza. We ate. T h en... we went to a fireworks display. Watching Grace E was as much fun as the fireworks. Now mind you all this was a surprise to me. We came back to the house and Charlie went home We girls sat and talked and laughed and giggled until about 1:30 or 2:00 AM. And we only quit then because we had all had very long night the night before. beth's problems were only mentioned in passing but she daid she was going to be fine now and would be able to take actin where needed and deal with her attitude about the ones that she cannot change. They will be back on the 27th for the family reunion on the 28th and again in September for her vacation. She will also show up when she needs to or if she feels I need her. Patience, , beth and I have this connection - and are seldom surprised when one of us shows up. I am not now always able to just jume inthe car and go as I used to due to the MS, but long phone call do help. There are many miles between but our hearts are very close. There is a connection with the twins also but not as strong. I think this is because they are connected to each other stronger than to me. well this has been about long enough for one email. So I will close with love to you all and hope that you all have had great weekends too. With love and hugs to my extended family!!!!!! 1 PS I plan to add pictures from this visit to my album tonight or tomorrow. going to watch army wives now.May you always find HAPPINESS and BUTTERFLIES Lynn Butterflies are angels bringing messages from God Looking for a deal? Guest guest
No one is teasing you, love; you do far better than Hallmark. Guest guest
You know out of all the stores I've looked at, only Wal-Mart has Christian Christmas cards. And I hate WAL-Mart. It's such a zoo. Guest guest
As a christian, who holds to a lot of the Jewish teachings, you wouldn't get any arguement from me if this is what you wanted to do, Trista. I think it would be wonderful. Your cards are just as good, if not better than a lot of cards that are out there already. I think you should go for it. For more information on antivirus tips and technology, visit http://ses.symantec.com/ That is how I feel. I am jewish, but greet everyone appropriately, as the true sentiment is the same. And if they wish me "Merry Christmas," or "Happy Easter," I just thank them. I think that we are supposed to love one another and express that love, especially at holidays. One of my children is married to a moslem, and the children are being reared in both religions--now that is not as difficult as it sounds; and BOTH re ligions are required to honor Jesus as a true Prophet. Mutual love and respect seems to me to be what the world's religions all demand of us. I guess that one could call this "RC"--not to be debating the merit of anyone's religious choice--that is not the point. I live in an apartment complex with people who celebrate individual holidays that are very different from my own, but when they invite me to attend their churches with them, I accept, gratefully, and learn. There are several who have gone to synagogue with me, and are amazed at the similarities. Guest guest
i have Jewish friends and mormon friends and my grandmother was Catholic so I've been introduced to several faiths. Like you said, this is America and all people should be allowed to worship and celebrate in their own way. Heck, my little brother and hiswife were Wicca for a while. I don't know if they truly still believe in that but my brother tells me he believes in a higher power, he just doesn't belive the same as I do in what that higher power is. So we just don't have religious discussions because he is entitled to his own belefs whatever they may be 'Trista wrote: Yeah. It seems like we can't even celebrate Christian holidays anymore. Gotta be "politically correct". So stupid. I'm not going to stop saying Merry Christmas, and say happy holidays. Christians should be able too have pride in their beliefs also. Everyone else is able to. ~Trista~********************************When the world says, "give up,"Hope whispers, "try it one more time."
