My Wonderful Marvelious Weekend I did have another unexpected visit today. 's oldest son and his children came to visit. This was nice surprise. A little background since we have many new members and bad memories. I am a 64 yr young widow with 4 birth children and 6 stepchildren, 37 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; 4 sisters and about 14 neices and nephews, most with spouses and children. was my husband and he had 2 brothers with wives and children. I love them all and am close with most all of these family members. My birth children are Patience [43], she and her family live almost 300 miles away; but we are very close. Bill {my }{42 this Aug} is my only son and is 20 miles away, then there are the twins {37 this Sept}; Sheri and Teri. Teri and family live about 25 miles away and Sheri and her family live almost 400 miles away. This weekend started out Friday evening with a call from . He ask if I had eaten yet and if I wanted a sandwich. He and his youngest son came and we ate and talked. After we were finished he hinted that I would be hearing "Hi, Gramma-great" in about hour. I suspected that they were coming but did not expect them until much later. We continued out basic visit routine. And sure enough, in just under an hour beth {Patience's oldest[23 on the 24th]} and Grace E {granddaughter-great [just turned 2]} were here. She said she needed to come to her most comforable comfort zone to put some distance between herself and her current stressors so she could see the forest for the trees, and get a sensse of how she could deal with them rather than just reacting. She said just the drive and antitisipation of being here was a very big help. The timing was great for me too. These visits are always very enjoyable for me. No matter how bad I am feeling or doing it is so uplifting. beth has been coming by herself since she turned 18; sometimes as often as every or everyother month. We usually go shopping even if we do not need anything - just for the fun of it. This time it was only groceries as I needed to go but did not feel I could handle it by myself. Yes I used the electric cart. We had just gotten back to the house - not even out of the car - and my sister, Sylvia, and her dh pulled up. So we had help getting the groceries in. Charlie -bil- did the yard work. One of my nieces came over to get some plants and a large picnic table she wanted and visited for a while. Sylvia ordered pizza. We ate. T h en... we went to a fireworks display. Watching Grace E was as much fun as the fireworks. Now mind you all this was a surprise to me. We came back to the house and Charlie went home We girls sat and talked and laughed and giggled until about 1:30 or 2:00 AM. And we only quit then because we had all had very long night the night before. beth's problems were only mentioned in passing but she daid she was going to be fine now and would be able to take actin where needed and deal with her attitude about the ones that she cannot change. They will be back on the 27th for the family reunion on the 28th and again in September for her vacation. She will also show up when she needs to or if she feels I need her. Patience, , beth and I have this connection - and are seldom surprised when one of us shows up. I am not now always able to just jume inthe car and go as I used to due to the MS, but long phone call do help. There are many miles between but our hearts are very close. There is a connection with the twins also but not as strong. I think this is because they are connected to each other stronger than to me. well this has been about long enough for one email. And sure enough, in just under an hour beth {Patience's oldest[23 on the 24th]} and Grace E {granddaughter- great [just turned 2]} were here. So I will close with love to you all and hope that you all have had great weekends too. With love and hugs to my extended family!!!!!! 1 PS I plan to add pictures from this visit to my album tonight or tomorrow. going to watch army wives now.May you always find HAPPINESS and BUTTERFLIES Lynn Butterflies are angels bringing messages from God Looking for a deal? Guest guest
I got into making them about a year ago, when I need to concentrate on something other than pain. I've sold quite a few, but haven't done any new ones in a few months. Fell out of the mood. lol. My fatigue hit hard, and even sitting at the table making cards was too much. KWIM? I need to figure out how to get a website set up, because the fees on Ebay are awful. ~Trista~********************************When the world says, "give up,"Hope whispers, "try it one more time." Guest guest
Thanks Sharon. It is fun. My OCD gets the better of me though. I stress over them, and can never get them to be "good enough". Guest guest
I sure do KWYM (thrown in for my Mother's sake lol). Have you tried meds for fatigue yet? I can't remember. Do you think you might consider it? I would consider it. I would consider it right this minute if someone offered. Anyone. Just on the street, walking along, "here, try this fatigue buster". Okay, that's a lie. lol Seriously though, have you tried any, are you on any, might you try? If I knew how to set up webpages, I'd do it for ya! lol The most I have are blogs that aren't. Guest guest
Oh, that sounds like it could really be fun. The custom cards, that is. That *right* doesn't. I do not like that feeling. Getting stuck in making it *right*, and it never will be. When you must tweak just this one thing, one more little touch, do this, shave that, fix that... and it just gets worse and worse and you feel like you're going to explode. Bleh. And sure enough, in just under an hour beth {Patience's oldest[23 on the 24th]} and Grace E {granddaughter- great [just turned 2]} were here. Guest guest
Challis, you know me so well. LOL. If I do something, I OVER do it. LOL. I have found though with handcrafted cards, less is more. When I first started, they were too "busy". And, they look better if they aren't perfectly symmetrical in very way. Not sure if it's the Virgo in me, or OCD, that is VERY bothered by things not being perfectly symmetrical. I am also plagued by a shopping addiction, which LOVES my OCD. I HAVE to have every possible color of paper, embellishments. You ought too see the huge amt. of stuff I thought I needed to make a few cards. LMHO. Guest guest
ROFL I am you. LMHO It's very easy to overdo when you're trying for just right. I have to make a deliberate effort not to get stuck in that "right" mode and that isn't easy, is it? LOL The "little more of this" fits there. And, ya know, nothing needs that many sparklies, pom-poms, colored feathers, different shades of paper, doilies, marker colors... LOL I've been so much happier with the end result of anything I'm making if I just leave it be. Many times I have to walk away, leave something for a good while, then come back. When I do this, I am so proud of me. LOL It took a long time for me to be able to do that at all. LMHO I'm not a Virgo, I'm a Scorpio, and I like symmetrical (I feel like I'm at "a meeting" rofl). If Virgo'ness brings the symmetric need, then you have a double whoppy and I bet you're so happy for it. LOL Trista, I laughed so hard over your stock-pile. I can imagine. Very easily. LOL Though I've never gotten into the scrapbooking or cardmaking, just seeing some of the materials to use... how big a Craft Shed are you wanting to build? LOLOL Challis Trista wrote: Challis, you know me so well. LOL. If I do something, I OVER do it. LOL. I have found though with handcrafted cards, less is more. Guest guest
ROFLMHO! Craft shed? Don't think they make 'em big enough. I actually have one of those piece together shelves from Home Depot that goes to the ceiling. It is filled with boxes and drawer organizers full of craft stuff. It is a never-ending cycle of OCD torture. "Over do" then go crazy because I have too much stuff, and I hate clutter! I'd cry if it all wasn't so annoyingly amusing. ~Trista~********************************When the world says, "give up,"Hope whispers, "try it one more time." My Wonderful Marvelious Weekend I did have another unexpected visit today. And sure enough, in just under an hour beth {Patience's oldest[23 on the 24th]} and Grace E {granddaughter- great [just turned 2]} were here. Guest guest
I think you should find a publisher. Yours are as good as ones I've seen for Hallmark. Just think, your very own card line. in TexasTrista wrote: Challis, you know me so well. LOL. If I do something, I OVER do it. LOL. I have found though with handcrafted cards, less is more. LMHO. Poor Steve just shook his head at me, every time I had to "go shopping" for supplies.
