Guest guest
Hi, all, I'm 45 years old. I spent 2 years in hospital (in England) age 2 to 4, with my hips stretched out at 90 degrees and then at age 19 had an osteotomy w/o much physio followup. If I'd been in North America my congenital hip dislocation would probably have been diagnosed and treated earlier. I've had significant pain and restriction of movement the past year or so which is a major " pain " as I have a 2 year old and 4 year old daughter, each of whom still need mommy to carry them from time to time. I've found that aquafit helps with the pain. But not enough. I'm wondering if I should have surgery soon - and, if so, what kind - THR or a resurfacing or what? Or can I improve the aquafit to the point that I can function " normally " . My grandmother lived to 103 and I don't really want 4 or 5 hip surgeries... but I would like to be able to run with my girls and climb stairs and hike and ... Any suggestions? cbickley @ idirect.com [remove the spaces]
