Guest guest Posted April 12, 2006 Report Share Posted April 12, 2006 I am doing better than I was. I would say 50% better over the course of 8 months. The biggest improvement has been in the last 2 months. I am seeing a specialist but I don't think the specialist is the cause of the improvement. I have been doing whatever I can to get better. I take calcium citrate before meals, evening primrose twice daily, cod liver oil pills twice daily, antioxidants twice daily, danactive daily, biotin and zinc daily. I also take amitryptiline (I can never remember how to spell it) and am now up to 95 mg. The specialist told me to go up to 150mg which I am hesitant to do. I do kegal exercises and also use an inversion table. Don't know if that has any effect but feels good! Things I can do now that I couldn't before are: play tennis walk the dogs play with the dogs in the yard Be dressed for more than 4 hours (Sex was always OK) I still don't make any evening plans as I don't know if I'll have pain or not. The doctor says to go ahead and do things like you are normal but I hate to get caught feeling bad and being somewhere. When I feel much pain I have to use ice. I expect to get better and told the doctor that. If I don't see more continued improvement I will go to either a homeopath (talked to one yesterday who said she gets 40-100% improvement in patients with vulvodynia) or an acupuncturist.
