Guest guest
Hi -- Haven't been up to reading my e-mails lately. I get the headaches mentiioned. They start with a feeling of pinching behind or in front of ears and continue on. I did take the placquenil which seemed to help with pain pills. (can't remember name). Sue: Please talk to your doctor or someone in the office. After reading your e-mail on how long they take to get results back to you -- it is insane. 6 weeks. I talked to many nurses/doctors before picking my doctors. I want immediate answers. I lucked out because a friend works in the rheumy's office and she gets me in and gets my answers. My ears/headaches were bothering me and I get in first thing in the a.m. Please chat with the office staff and see if they can figure out a better plan. The airways are critical for us to keep healthy. Is Missy's name going to be added to our webpage??? Many Wishes for a Healthy & Happy New Year to you All, Cheryl L. (Litfchfield, NH) P.S. I was reading the e-mail from youngest person to have RP -- has anyone seen Dr. Jerome Hermann, a pre-eminent RP expert at U of Cincinnati, that was mentioned????? Just curious......... Guest guest
The vice-grip to me feels like a squeeze on one side of my face or the otehr. But then there are the stabs over the eyes. Re: Headaches From: MLier325@... , are you talking about the " vice-grip effect " ? That is the best way I know how to describe the way it feels. Sometimes it is like something has just exploded inside my head in different areas. I can be walking along, or sitting and all of a sudden, I'm grabbing my head trying to push the pain down....... make any sense? ---------------------------
Guest guest
Hi and all, I haven't had migraines for a long time (Thank God) but I know that the first sign of a headache you should take something to prevent it from getting worse. This might already have been mentioned, but I'm so far behind in reading our posts. Sorry if it's a repeat. Also, I have purchased a bag of herbs called " Herbie " that is terrific for sinus headaches. It conforms to your face and can be either heated in a microwave or frozen in a freezer. I use it on my knee constantly when it is being ugly. I just got mine out (bought a new one at the flower show) and I thought there was a web site for it, but don't see it on the label. But, if you go to your local heath food store I know they will have them or something similar. I even bought one for my boss who suffers terrible sinus attacks and she said it has really helped her. If I find a site you can buy them at, I'll let you guys know. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> , This is . I don't know how much help I can offer. Even though I was diagnosed in 1994 I'm not as knowledgeable about RP as some of the others. But many times over the years I have suffered with terrible headaches in the sinus and temple areas. Didn't experience them before the RP and have been told by doctors since that they were probably related which to me means that they don't know for sure. Sometimes before flare ups and or during, I have had headaches in the sinus area so bad that I would have call the doctor and go to the emergency room for a shot. In the last few months I've had to go to the doctors office for shots because they would turn into full blown migraine headaches with nausea and sometimes vomiting. I was given Demerol and compazine in pill form first, then in a shot if that didn't work. Then I was tried on some of the migraine medications that seem to work for a while. Now I take percocet at the first sign of pain which seems to come it most of the time. If I wait too long even that doesn't help. At first the doctors didn't want to give me the percocet as often because it's a barbiturate but see now that it is necessary. Also as some of the others, I put warm washcloths on my sinus and temple areas. Sometimes it gives some relief. Do you get nauseated with yours? I still sometimes take promethazine with the pain medication to help with that. You should definitely tell your doctor to check it out. Sometimes I don't think they realize just how bad the pain is that we experience although they try. This isn't much help but yes, I do know what you're experiencing. God Bless,
Guest guest
Hi , Thank you so much for the info, there is soooo much of it. Where do you get all of this? Do you work for a doctor? You are a very informed person and a great source of knowledge for me. I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate all your postings! Guest guest
Janis, I had them regularly too, and my OB suggested that is was a symtom of dehydration, and that I needed to drink more water. Simple cure, and it worked. Hope it does for you. DeVore RNY 3-15-01 EDD 8-31-02 > I have been have awful headaches 2-3 times per day. I don't have a clue whats causing them. My eyes aren't sore even though I stare at a computer about 8 hours a day. I don't seem to need glasses and the headaches have seemed to come on all of a sudden in the past 2 weeks. They go away for a bit during the day, but come back again full force. I don't have any ideas. I was wondering if anyone else was having them or had any opinions as to what was causing them. FYI, I'm 17 weeks. > > Thanks > > Janis > edd 09/21/02 > > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > Its bad when you annoy yourself! > > >
