Guest guest
I have a friend who has GD in the past and she pulled out the old diet to follow during her current pregnancy. I about fell over when she told me they allowed the following amount of carbs: Breakfast 45 carbs Midmorning Snack 15 carbs Lunch 45 carbs Midafternoon Snack 30 carbs Dinner 60 carbs Bedtime Snack 15 carbs Can you believe they are telling a pregnant woman who is substantially overweight that it is ok for her to eat 210 grams of carbs a day? Her last baby weighed almost 13 pounds! He had an arm wedged in her pelvis and had to have physical therapy for several months. She isn't diabetic but you better believe she will be in the near future if she doesn't get to a good endocrinologist but of course, she can't afford THAT she tol me! Just sharing this info with the list. I don't know what to tell her but I am very concerned for her and her large family! Kay W.
