Guest guest
Female, 49 years old approx 12 years of hives in the beginning they were huge, they covered all of my thighs, or all of my torso, but now they are small, usually tiny bumps, with deep redness, I get them mostly on my hands, feet, and thighs. I hate to itch!
Guest guest
, I've done the same thing but it's always accompanied with heavy sweating. I think it was from the prednisone because I have'nt had the night sweats since going off the pred. I too felt achy the next morning. I believe some of us hivers get hives inside as well as outside. That's what causes the ache. If I lift weights, the next day I may not be swollen or hiving but will definitely have that deep ache. Of course sometimes I'll have the ache and hives and swelling. It may also be a hormone thing!! check it out Take Care Amy

Guest guest
In a message dated 09/03/2000 2:15:03 PM Eastern Daylight Time, U.Feucht@... writes: << - My symptoms in short are: " only " angioedema, no hives >> Finally I've found someone who only has angio...for the last several months mine has been mostly tongue or throat swelling. I take Chlortrimeton preventatively every day, and when the swelling starts, Benadryl 50 mgm. If not any better in an hour, then I can take Prednisone. They generally last 10 to 12 hours, and when it's the throat, it's 10 to 12 hours of pure hell. I have two EpiPens, but so far have not used them. Misery loves company, so I am glad to know that there is another angio-only member. Rusty
Guest guest
Dear Zelma Ok, I'm 49, female, have had chronic urticaria for nearly 8 years, every day with no breaks. At first had lots of mysterious swellings that would come and go all over at various joints, i.e. elbow, wrist, knee...Hives everywhere but not so much on my face, scalp, genitals. Passable relief from hives with a combination of antihistamines (loratidine 10mg twice a day, cemetidine 400 mg twice a day) together with NSAIDS sometimes for relief of hip/knee pain. Used to take twice as much antihistamines but reduced them by 50% with homeopathic remedies. Still get swollen feet, knees, palms of hands, particularly in hot weather or after " pressure " (also pressure hives/swelling around bra, waist, top of socks, etc) - only relief is to rest, put feet up/use Chinese cream for itching/burning/take clothes off! etc. All blood tests " negative " - therefore chronic idiopathic urticaria. I've noticed a connection with my periods - always much worse just before and during. Have also had iritis, another immune system problem - apparently not connected to the chronic urticaria, but I have my doubts. Treatment for that was steroid injection into the eye, and lots and lots of drops. This came and went in both eyes for nearly two years but have been in remission from that for over a year now, so it's not all bad news! What it's done to me mentally, I don't really know. I try to keep going and not get too " depressed " I have my moments when I cry or I shout, but not too often. Mostly I just don't say too much to anyone at all about it, except here! Good luck with your efforts to collect and collate information, and best wishes to all! Guest guest
I think that´s a good idea. - My symptoms in short are: " only " angioedema, no hives - swelling of the bottom of my feet, often (5 years, this began right after a bike accident and a following operation of my ellbow) - swelling of tongue and lips (beginning 2 to 3 years ago, rarely, since 1 year more often, without antihistamine every few days ) - sometimes, but rarely, swelling of my palms or fingers - I don´t take prednisone apart from 2 emergency cases. Guest guest
> can anyone tell me some of these? > Symptoms of colon cancer can also have other causes besides cancer, so it is important to see a doctor immediately for an evaluation. Caught early, colon cancer is highly curable, but if you ignore warning signs and the cancer goes unnoticed until it is at an advanced stage, things are much more difficult. Can you give more detail about your experience? We might be able to help. http://www.healthscout.com/template.asp?ap=408 & page=ency & encyid=197 Symptoms When an illness affects the colon or rectum, a number of symptoms can appear. The ones listed below are warning signs of a possible problem: Diarrhea or constipation Change in bowel habits Blood in or on the stool (either bright red or very dark in color) Narrow stools General stomach discomfort (bloating, fullness, and/or cramps) Frequent gas pains Feeling that the bowel does not empty completely Weight loss with no known reason Anemia (fatigue, shortness of breath, low energy, brittle nails)
