Hi Amy from Wisconsin! You live in a beautiful state; I was at Green

Lake this past summer for a conference and enjoyed my stay very much

(I'm from Iowa).

I would've *loved* to have gotten pg pre-op, but it was pretty much

impossible due to PCOS infertility. In my way of thinking, once you've

lost the weight, you're healthier and better able to sustain a pregnancy

(although there are a few women here who didn't have any trouble either

way, before OR after, so it's not a universal fact). You should take

stock of your own individual situation... your age... how healthy were

you during you last pgcy and were you able to conceive easily... how was

your recovery time postpartum... gestational diabetes... etc. Give

yourself about a year post-op before you start trying to conceive

(depending on what your surgeon recommends); do you want your childrens

ages spaced apart by that much, or does it matter... etc etc etc. It's

an individual thing, really.

There are lots more folks on here who will have much better advice than me!!

thanks for the inputs on the last respond... umm i didnt think of

that.. my last child she now 14 months old.. I was high risk

pregnancy but it was all on her not me. she had 2 surgeries after she

was born.. only thing i got is preclamia and polyhydramnios...I would

like to have a baby before my daughter becomes 3 but ohh well i

guess not.. i should focus on myself due to my back plms.. that some

day i couldnt get out of bed or chair or car... due to a sharp

shooting pain in my lower back.. hips hurt joint etc.. im only i

thinkkk 90 to 110 pounds overweight i have no idea how much i weight

now.. wouldnt look! it either high or lost some weight but they swing

up and down alot.. soo i hope the dr and etc could help me with

getting surgery etc..

well thanks!! i guess ill decided to take care of me first then wait

a year after losing weight then have another child then:) since i

know im only 26 so i got time.. ill make sure to have my next child

before 30!!! lolol

We have four living children and two angels. I never had any trouble

conceiving or with the pregnancies until I gained a lot of weight (65

pounds). Then I had miscarriages, a still birth and a neonatal death. We

aren't sure of the reasons for any of them, but I also developed

undetected type two diabetes (finally diagnosed last year), high blood

pressure and possible PCOS with the weight and that could have caused my

troubles having children. We have been trying to conceive for 3 1/2

years-since the loss of our son and nothing has happened, even with meds

and IUI. I am praying that with the weightloss, my infertility will

resolve itself and we will be blessed with another child. Now we are

trying NOT to conceive until I am past the majority of the weightloss.

I am already off diabetic meds with only 25 pounds gone.

Reading about your pregnancies helps to give me hope.
