Guest guest
I went to the gym yesterday and left in the gym daycare. He loves it. He always looks forward to going and playing with the kdis and all the different toys. When I was done with my workout I go to pick him up and the sitter (who can't be a day older than 19) has some questions for me. Sitter: Does your son have a hearing problem? Me : No. Sitter: Does he have a speech problem? Me : Yes. Sitter: Oh I knew there was something wrong with him. Me : *almost in tears* yes he has a severe speech disorder (i'm sure she doesn't know what apraxia is) Sitter: *probably noticing how upset i was getting* Oh but he is so smart he knows his letters, numbers, colors....I was doing flash cards with him. HIs attention and focus are so great. Me : *i'm thinking to myself does she think he is dumb, why is she telling me how smart he is...this much i know* so I ask her if she is a licensed therapist, lol, and she says oh no! To sum it up, it was just such a reality check. It makes me so mad that she said right in front of *oh i knew there was something wrong with him*.....and I was feeling so sorry for myself and him all last night. Sorry I'm rambling. How would you all deal with someone like this? On the bright side, , I heard TAnner's talking page....and OH boy there is hope! Thanks. Just what I needed last night. 3.
