Guest guest
Joyce, I needed this today more than you could ever know. It is wonderful. Thank You. Love and Prayers, Peggy ipf 6/04 Florida"Worry looks around, Sorry looks back, Faith looks up." Hi ,I assume that you are new here. If so, let me be the first to welcome you with open arms. We are a huggy group. The best medicine for Pulmonary Fibrosis is a hug. It has been proven. Even cyber hugs are awesome. Is Montgomery County, PA part of Amish Country. I have read sooooo many books about the Amish and just find them fascinating. We also have them in our community and they are wonderful people. As to God's purpose for you using this illness. We may never know, but I read this excerpt from a person who was suffering and it made me think....And I have been wondering... WHY is my brokenness so encouraging to others? See, I know that it is, but I don't get the why of it... and then I realized... in my brokenness, you see God. While I am broken, it is only Him who is visible. His light, His love, His power. All the good in me is from Him, because I am just not capable of any good in my own strength. ..... simply abide in the fire. Abide here until He rescues me. Look to Him alone for guidance and direction. Trust. Endure. Wait. Believe. He who has begun a good work in me is able to complete it. Be still. Abide in the fire. ~Nevertheless.Whatever the reason, make the most of your life. Fight the fight. Best wishes on your transplant.Hugs, Joyce D.PULMONARY FIBROSIS/LUPUS 1997 BRONCHIECTASIS 2004 INDIANA 2 COR. 12:10 ....when I am weak, then I am strong.>> HELLO:> > CONTINUAL, ONGOING COMMUNICATIONS.> > MY NAME IS jEFFREY. Guest guest
Don't we wish we'd been smarter sooner. Perfect example that Sher discussed earlier and then followed through on having a quality and quarrel free time. Do what is good for you. Bet she made someone she didn't invite mad but, you know what, they were the ones going to be made about something if they were there. Better mad elsewhere than having to put up with it. > > Diane... I know what you mean about family! Rich and I had 6 of our closest family members here yesterday. Three of them grandkids. > We had a gift exchange and simply had a wonderful warm and enjoyable day. Ate like fools and we regretted parting in the evening. > Some of the family were not invited. That was a hard choice for me but I asked myself if this is my last Christmas, how do I want to spend it? And spend it I did. With those I love and who love me back. Our family is small to begin with but we had quality time this year instead of tension and quarreling. > I feel good today...riding on a wave of love and thankfulness. > Hugs to you Diane. > Sher; ipf 3-06; OR. > Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! >
Guest guest
Sher: I applaud you. Some people just don't make it attractive to have them around, but most of us give in to guilt and do it anyway. > > Bruce... here is what I gave the 'other' family members: > > > I missed them but not the trouble they carry. > > Sher; ipf 3-06; OR. > Don't fret about tomorrow, God is already there! >
Guest guest
Dear Diane, I'm happy for your firm & purposeful spirit...we will be leaving behind a legacy for our families, & actively thinking about what that might be is another positive for being handed a disease process that does have some time attached to it's progress. It may not seem a lot for many who are struggling, but, lots of us know families who got no time for this at all! My first husband died very suddenly of smoke inhalation while fighting a grass fire, 32 years ago on 12 Jan . He left 2 young daughters aged 11 & 13 & me a widow at 35 yrs old. It's a very strange thought for me to process, that in fact ,our deaths will both be lung related & really pretty much due to the same cause ( damage to small airways preventing gas exchange) BUT he died in a matter of mintues with nobody with him. I've got time to adjust, make plans, share with my family in facing the process...it seems to me that I've been given quite a gift in comparison to him! It's all a matter of perspective I guess & what we're coping with in our individual lives.....these days I find myself having mental conversations with my 1st hubby about the 'state of affairs'...he's never, ever been forgotten! His family have 'adopted' my 2nd hubby into their world & my daughters, although they have come to rely AND love my 2nd Hubby, their own father is their 'guiding' light in how they conduct themselves in the world. For somebody in your family you too can become a GUIDING LIGHT! Guest guest
Wow Dianne, I wonder if losing our partners so young means that we did a lot of the 'hard yards' then & now have some sort of experience to fall back on....that probably is true for anyone who faces the unexpected death of a family member but particularly when they are much younger than is usual! Sometimes I wonder if I'm 'in Denial' or something or whether my sense of Ok'ness is only because the really tough symptoms haven't kicked in yet....I'll only really know the answer to that down the track BUT I don't think that is so. Certainly I'm anxious about COPING with the physical discomfort but not the dying bit! Odd really! Have a wonderful warm Christmas with your family & ENJOY ! in Oz > > >> > > HELLO:> > > > > > CONTINUAL, ONGOING COMMUNICATIONS.> > > > > > MY NAME IS jEFFREY.
