YOu do increase food when preg. Jusst keep it healthy. Lotsa protein. ANd

make sure you aer hungry, don't let it become a habit that's hard to break

post partum. Are you on prenatals? Ifnot get some from yuor ob.

9 months post op and pregnant

I need some help here, I am 9 months post op and I am now 5 weeks

pregnant, my doctors office isn't very helpful with this. I just

don't know waht to expect. I feel like all i do is eat, but scale is

staying the same, I am tired all the time and just really confused.

Think part of it is this is my first pregnancy too. Think what I am

looking for is just some insight on what I should watch for, or what

I need to do, if anything? What to expect?? Anyone that can help it

would be greatly appreciated.

HI my Name is .. I am just over 8 weeks pregnant

but 2.5 yrs post op.. this is my 3rd baby.. and I too

am extremely tired.. sleepy..

I was not like this with the other 2.. and I have

noticed a lot of other ladies on here saying that they

were/are tired too.. I am thinking it may be a low b12

or something.

Sorry I can't help much more.. I have been just

listening to these gals a lot.. they are full of

info.. Congradulations on the upcoming baby though!

Hi Jen,

When I was pg, that happened to me too. Actually, that is partly what

caused me to go to the doc's because I got this dizzy feeling when I was

working out one day. I noticed that it seemed to happen anytime my pulse

sped up and when I would stand too fast. I would sometimes see spots or

something.

Unfortunately, I had a m/c almost 5 weeks again...unrelated I am

sure....so I can't tell you how long it lasted. I hope it goes away quickly

for you!

Jen,

Dizziness with achange in position or changing from sitting to standing is

totally normal. I used to see black spots when I got up too quickly. It is

hormonal and a change in blood pressure with all that extra blood circulating

through our bodies.

I am just over 1 year post op and 12 weeks pregnant.

I lost a total of 135 lbs, prior to getting preg and I

gained 8 lbs in the first two months, but none in the

last month. I am really eating what seems like a lot

to me compared to what I was eating before the

pregnancy. It seems like the weight gain has stopped

for now. Today alone, I had cereal for breakfast, a

ham and cheese sandwich mid morning, ramen noodles for

lunch, more cereal mid afternoon and two taco bell

tacos for supper. That is really a lot in my opinion.

I have been reallllly tired and lightheaded. I just

had a follow up appt with my surgeon and he says I am

doing just fine. They did a complete blood workup to

make sure I was getting still caught up on all my

vitamins and whatnot. I am starting to get used to

the fatigue, but the dizziness is a little unsettling

to me. Sometimes, if I stand up too fast, I lose most

of my vision for a few seconds. I have an appt with

my OB next week, so I will be asking him if this is

normal with preg, or if it something that comes along

with surgery. I have a doppler that a friend gave me

when I was preg with my 4 year old, so I was able to

hear the heartbeat last week, that was really nice. I

can hear it moving around in there too. I can't wait

to feel it move. Well I think I have gone on long

enough here. If anyone else is feeling dizzy let me

know. I am somewhat confused about that. My due date

is March 16, if anyone else has a due date close to

that let me know. It would be nice to keep in touch

with someone in the same place as me.

Good luck to all

Hi ,

You should, of course, tell your OB, but from my experience, and speaking

with others, tiredness, nauseous, and dizziness is all common. If you were

pregnant before, and didn't have it, you were fortunate. Like they always

say, " each pregnancy is different " .

I'm now six months, and I don't have the dizziness and nausea anymore,

however I still, generally, take a daily nap. Also, I take a multitude of

daily vitamins and supplements plus I a monthly B12 shot.

I have Orthostatic Hypotension (low blood pressure) ever since my weight

loss. I had somewhat low blood pressure before I gained the bulk of my

weight way back when (like 110/70), but I was always somewhat heavy even

as a child of about 7-8, so I never noticed because that elevates your

pressure enough to be low normal. Ever since my WLS and subsequent

drastic loss, if I stand up fast, bend over and then stand back up, or

take a hot shower and move too quickly, I will get spots (a general

darkening of my vision), and dizzy. If you wait a moment it goes away.

If it is severe enough to cause problems, ask your doctor, I think their

are medications to help. I just deal with it. My BP is like

100-105/60-65 or something like that now. But I hear this is common to

show up in some women only when they are pregnant because your body

requires even more blood for baby and causes a similar problem. Not

enough blood volume or pressure. .

Dopplers cost between $500-$1000. There are less sophisticated ones that

sell for *much* less money, but you need to be about 5 months or greater

pregnant to be able to hear Fetal Heart Tones (FHT).

Be aware there is *great* controversy about dopplers and ultrasounds (not

something to go into here, but search the web and you will find the

information easily), so study up before exposing your growing baby to the

sound waves (without medical indication).

<<blood pressure with all that extra blood circulating

through our bodies.>>>

Yes.............. , this is how it was explained to me! Also, that

extra blood issue can also cause a temporary heart murmur. I had one in the

beginning of my pregnancy. I'd never been told that before, also my Mom

says that she was often told she had one while pregnant. I researched it,

and YEP.............! That was in the early stage of my pregnancy, around

1-2 months. Now, no one hears it.

Hey Amber,

My birthday and wedding anniversary is April 22nd. I

was very hungry at the start, then nauseous for a few

weeks, now I am hungry again. Things are starting to

get better. A doppler is the thing that a Dr uses to

listen in the dr's office. My friend gave it to me,

I'm not really sure where she got it. I know that

they have thingies in the baby dept at like walmart or

target, but I don't think you can use them until you

are about 20 weeks along. My tummy is starting to

poke out I am 12 weeks preg now, and this is my second

child. Not too much longer until I will be able to

feel it move. I am so excited!!

amber, you can rent dopplers just like what the dr. uses that can

find the baby's heartbeat from about 10 weeks on. babybeat.com is one

place. i got one from hearttones.com, which was a little cheaper. it

costs about $27 a month. i have had a ton of spotting due to to a

cervical polyp and this has really helped ease my mind. my soon-to-be-

3-year-old son also loves hear the baby. i do it about once every

couple of days. i plan to keep it for a few more weeks until i can

feel the baby move around more. and my dr, said there was no problem

using it.
