Hi ,

I assume that you are new here. If so, let me be the first to welcome you with open arms. We are a huggy group. The best medicine for Pulmonary Fibrosis is a hug. It has been proven. Even cyber hugs are awesome.

Is Montgomery County, PA part of Amish Country. I have read sooooo many books about the Amish and just find them fascinating. We also have them in our community and they are wonderful people.

As to God's purpose for you using this illness. We may never know, but I read this excerpt from a person who was suffering and it made me think....

And I have been wondering... WHY is my

brokenness so encouraging to others? See, I

know that it is, but I don't get the why of it... and

then I realized... in my brokenness, you see God.

While I am broken, it is only Him who is visible.

His light, His love, His power. All the good in

me is from Him, because I am just not capable of

any good in my own strength.

...... simply abide in the fire.

Abide here until He rescues me.

Look to Him alone for guidance and direction.

Trust. Endure. Wait. Believe. He who has begun

a good work in me is able to complete it. Be still.

Abide in the fire. ~Nevertheless.

Whatever the reason, make the most of your life. Fight the fight. Best wishes on your transplant.

Hugs, Joyce D.

Peggy and all:

I just wanted to put my 2 cents worth in. I know that I am deterioring quite quickly. My sats are dropping and my fingernails and lips are a permanent shade of blue. However, I do try my best to put that all aside and take joy in this time of year. I have a son and a daughter and we have never been apart for Christmas (except when my son was in the army with the 82nd airborne). This is an extremely special time for all of us and we have created so many traditions that we love. A lot of the traditions were passed down by my Mum and in turn passed to my daughter and son. My granddaughters are already in love with the traditions and I know they will carry on long after I leave this earth. That will be my legacy to them - to love each other and to share the closeness of the family. I am not sure what my point is here except that even though I could be filled with sad and morbid

thoughts I am extremely happy with my family (most of them anyway) and my job and that is more than a lot of people can say. I will be sending some of my happiness out to you all as a great big Christmas wish. Diane IPF June 07New Brunswick, Canada

Dearest Diane, I am so sorry your declining at this time. You know from time to time out saturation becomes unstable and then will stabilize for a while.  Have you tried using more oxygen? Peggy and Joyce:

This year we will add a new tradition and that is to take a moment to wish all my wonderful friends the best of all there is. You two are absolutely remarkable. My thoughts will be with you both always. Diane IPF June 07New Brunswick, Canada

Diane... I know what you mean about family! Rich and I had 6 of our closest family members here yesterday. Three of them grandkids.

We had a gift exchange and simply had a wonderful warm and enjoyable day. Ate like fools and we regretted parting in the evening.

Some of the family were not invited. That was a hard choice for me but I asked myself if this is my last Christmas, how do I want to spend it? And spend it I did. With those I love and who love me back. Our family is small to begin with but we had quality time this year instead of tension and quarreling.

I feel good today...riding on a wave of love and thankfulness.

Hugs to you Diane.

I too lost my husband to an brain aneurysm when my daughter was 2 and I was pregnant with my son. I was only 23 at the time. That probably explains why we are so close. I never did remarry so it was always just the 3 of us. They are, without a doubt, the best kids anyone could ever have. Diane IPF June 07New Brunswick, Canada

I think you grow up a lot quicker than you would have under normal circumstances. I think the same as you about the denial thing. I think that there must be something wrong with me if I can feel so great knowing what lies ahead. Then I just forget about it and carry on with a wonderful life with great family, friends and co-workers. The very best to you and your family during this holiday as well.
