Tammy,

Speaking for myself the answer is yes, I get tired and need a nap after doing lots of things. In a little while I'm going to head over to my sisters house to use the treadmill and when I get home I know I'll need to nap for 20 or 30 minutes. Just doing normal household chores for a few hours wearies me. I think our bodies get tired because of the constant struggle to get enough O2 into our systems. Add activity to that and it means we have to schedule downtime.

I'm sure your husband doesn't understand. How could he? I think it's pretty much impossible for anyone who doesn't have this illness to understand what it feels like. It is intensely frustrating.

I think most of us have intermittent trouble with insomnia. Mine was much worse when I was on the prednisone but even without it, there are times (like last night) when I was up for a good while in the middle of the night. Again, frustrating!

I've never heard of any connection between uterine fibroids and PF. Doesn't mean there isn't a connection. But I know lots of women who've had fibroids and have never had lung problems. And I have fibrosis and have never had uterine fibroids that I know of so who knows?

a couple of questions here.

1. do any of you get tired after doing anything? or do you fall asleep while watching tv? because i do. and it makes my husband upset. then i have bouts of insomnia.... where i can't sleep....go figure.2. does having fibroid tumors anywhere in your body go hand in hand with ipf? because if so, why wasn't i told about this when i had uterin fibroid tumors? just wondering.

Hi Tammy, First of all welcome to our group! I think all of us get tired and have bouts of insomnia. It is a strange and aggravating thing! Personally, I think it has to do with not sleeping well. We wake up in the middle of the night needing oxygen, then are tired during the day because we didn't sleep well, do less than normal because we are tired, and then because we didn't exercise enough, have trouble sleeping again. It is a vicious cycle that is so hard to break. I've noticed when I stick to a regular exercise routine, I sleep better and don't need to nap during the day. As for the fibroids, I have never read of any connection, but it does seem as if fibrostic breasts, uterine and lungs could somehow be connected. Take

1. Yes we get tired. All of us. And, if your husband gets upset with it

then he needs some hard education in a firm manner. Sleeping problems

we know and as I recall you're not using your CPAP. If you got that

adjusted and a good easy gell mask you might find your daytime energy

up greatly.

2. I'm not sure honestly we know enough about PF and other Fibroid

tumors. We're so early into collecting real data. It seems somewhat

logical and I'm sure many have it, but is it a greater percentage than

normal of the population, are they related? We don't really know.

Hi Tammy,

Have I said welcome yet I can't remember...WELCOME...now I reckon everyone here will say YES to your first question. I've also wondered about your second question, but have no idea if there could be a connection!

I have tumors all over my kidneys and pelvis. I went

to the DR for kidney problems and on the ct scan the

radiologist noted to get my lungs checked otherwise

who knows when they would have caught the IPF.The

kidney specialist said not to worry about them.
