Hi Janie,

Right now I'm unable to take any Thyroid meds. I have terrible side

effects even with very small doses. That is why I'm trying to get my

Adrenals functioning properly. I have been under alot of stress for

many years and I know they need some help!

Thanks,

kim

understanding.

Hello to all:

I'm not totally new to diabetes discussion groups so some might recognize my

engineering style. I'm enjoying reading the lively, caring discussions found

here. I'll try to add my own thoughts, when appropriate.

I've had type 2 diabetes for 14 years, but still keep good control with a

small injection of basal insulin to combat prednisone effects, also I pay very

careful attention to diet. My recent A1c of 5.6 shows that it's worth the

effort.

(Polio - 1949) (Type 2 Diabetes - 1990) (PMR and TA - 2000)

Welcome to the list, Pat. It sounds as if you're starting towards a

low-carb style of eating. Lots of us here take lots of supplements,

including EPO (Evening Primrose Oil), ALA (Alpha-Lipoic Acid) and

L-Arginine for lowering BG levels.

Type 2 dx'd 9/04. Low Carb, Metaformin XR (500mg).

Some supplements used are: ALA (1800mg), EPO (1000mg),

Biotin (15-20mg), L-Arginine (500mg), CoQ10 (200mg),

Chromium Picolate (500mcg), Omega 3 (1000-5000mg)

I just received the results of a vaginal biopsy and have Lichens Sclerosis. Am awaiting two types of cream to use. Would like to hear from other members who have this disorder. I also have interstitial cystitis - a chronic inflamation of the bladder. I heard that this condition may also be an autoimmune condition like Interstitial.

Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo! Messenger to make PC-to-Phone calls. Great rates starting at 1¢/min.

Thank you for your letter. Glad to hear you are having good results with Elmiron. I took it for nine months, and it made my hair fall out, but didn't seem to do any better job than Elvail which I have been taking for about 16 years. Have never heard of Librax - what kind of drug is it. Sorry to hear you are having bladder infections. I recently had one, but it has been years since they bothered me, but I do dread them. Interesting to hear you are taking elavil for the lichen. How does it work on it? Anyhow, my drugs for Lichen are to arrive today, so will see. I live in a remote place, and while the docs are good, we only get specialists in every few months, so have to find my info on the net.!

No, I haven't had problems so far with yeast and bacterial infections, but have had trouble with chronic soreness, redness in vagina and around anual region, with constipation and some bleeding when I wipe, which I had no clue what was happening these past six months. I was in Hawaii last February and the heat caused much perspiring in the lower regions, irritation and redness. Intercourse is also very sore. I use a product called Replens which adds some moisture, as I get very dry with some splitting skin sometimes.

The IC hasn't been too bad, but it flares when I am under stress. I drink a lot of water and go lie down and usually the Elvail (20 mil.) kicks in around two hours after I take it in the evening and I am usually good until the following afternoon when it seems to cause pain.

Hugs
