Guest guest
Tammy, I also most definitely encourage you to do pulmonary rehab. I did it when I was first diagnosed and it was the best thing I ever did for myself. You would need a prescription from your pulmo. It's a way to learn how much you can push yourself with exercise and how to live and cope with this disease. I also use the treadmill, walk every day at lunch time, do yoga and pilates. I use my oxygen, pushing it up as needed. I've had trouble here and there with depression and since I've been sticking to a somewhat regular exercise schedule, I haven't had the lows as much. I definitely notice a difference. I know a lof of us aren't able to be as active, but I strongly encourage people to do a little something each day. Even if you walk for 10 minutes twice a day to start. I have found out that if you don't move it you lose it. I'm grateful that I'm able to do what I can do at this point. I'm also committed to being in the best possible shape I can be in for the lung transplant. Good luck to you and keep us posted on what transpires.
