,

I appreciate the articles especially because I happen

to have aspergillus and have been taking lamisil for

it for 9 months. I did not know about that

antidepressant and its influence on that particular

yeast/mold. It is always good to know stuff about

one's own condition. And it is great that you are

looking on the internet and ever other place for

answers.

You are having a really bad time and I hope you can

get better quickly. Unfortunately a lot of people have

a really hard time finding the way to get better. You

seem to be well ahead of most. This doesn't have

anythng much to do with you but I am wondering if

anybody has take anti inflammatory medications for the

inflammation in vulvar disorders--like celebrex or

feldene (has gluten in it) or even does ibuprofen work

as it is a great drug. Just curious as it is for

certain some pain relief seems to be called for and

the heavy hitters are not for me. I wonder if anybody

has ever been prescribed oral cortizone to see it it

helps at all (prednizone). You sound like you have so

much inflammation.

Just to say there was a woman who had to take an oral steroid for other problems and she has LS and it 'did' relieve that pain for her unexpectedly. Though it's certainly not something I'd want to stay on long term because of other side effects.

Hi Arline--

I'm glad you found the articles worthwhile...personally I was shocked when I

read them,

and finally understood why I had such an intense recurrence of symptoms when I

went off

of Prozac.

I'm curious, how did you find out you had aspergillus, what kind of doctor are

you working

with, and has the Lamisil been helping? The last doctor I went to gave me

Lamisil to take

every 3 days...I don't want to do that though until I have a culture and

sensitivity done to

see if there's any yeast left (I've taken SOO many antifungals) and if so what

would be

effective in getting rid of it.

It seems like you are feeling much better than you were at one time, and it's

nice to know

that someone got relief after so much suffering!

Thanks

Hi ,

My large toenail turned white on the side and into the

cuticle and it looked kind of loose so I figured that

I had a fungus there just like on all the ads we see

and I went to my family doctor (I guess that it what

she is called) and showed her. Surprisingly to me, (I

never expect much anymore), LOL, she trimmed my

toenails and took some skin in several places around

the nails and sent it to be biopsied. She called and

said that among all the other normal things (and I

don't know what that might be as she gave me the lab

report which only said aspergillus) that I had

aspergillus.

When I go back about every three months for whatever

else seems to crop up all the time and to get a new

prescription for Lamisil, I just tell her that it

doesn't look like it is grown out yet. She agrees and

writes another prescription. I am supposed to have a

blood test every 6 weeks which she hasn't made me do

allthe time thank heavens--only about every three

months. I had told her that I had in the past had

chronic vaginal yeast infection and asked if

aspergillus could form in the vagina. Her answer

indicated she didn't really know but that it colonized

in closed places like the lungs.

It is almost nine months now and my nails are still

not grown out and they still don't look healthy, so I

don't know what is next. I will say that I love taking

the lamisil as I have never been so free of vaginal

infections and have never really been able to get

enough antifungal to take care of them. I don't think

perhaps there are enough--laugh!

Gluten and Candida are so close as to be sisters and

the body as you know, cross reacts to both of these

things. I don't eat gluten ever intentionally. I have

been cheating with eating dairy --cottage cheese--love

it with flax seed oil--seems like a small sin--but it

is really bad for me I know and I have wondered if

dairy products might also be another food that reacts

with candida but I don't know that. (I'll bet it does

but then I am a little obsessed). I think that

sometime in the past I read an article tht indicated

dairy is another thing that cross reacts to candida

but I may have dreamed it since I can't find it.

Yes, I feel much much better and have for several

years since I found out what I had. I really have no

vulvar or vaginal problems or pain from Lichen

Sclerosis, clitoral pain, burning stinging, etc., and

appear to be entirely normal except for the

reoccurring yeast. (nasty buggers).

You are really being very intelligent about all this

and the way you are examining everything in my mind. I

really like reading articles about this stuff and hope

that you stay around awhile and keep looking for them.

LOL

Love,

Arline
