Guest guest
I have a 3 y/o who is having lots of difficulty separating from Mama. She speaks only a few recognizable words and has only a few signs. I've had her at 1/2 day preschool on Mon & Tues for a few months but she hasn't been able to settle in; continues crying frequently through the morning and can't attend to/participate in circle time. Is 3 y/o too young for a non-verbal child to tackle separating from Mama for preschool? Should we stop and try again when she's 4 or do you think she needs to go more often than 2 days/week to be able to get used to the school routine? At home she wants to watch her videos and play the same jumpstart software games over and over...I think being at school could be great for her language development but worry that it may be too tramatic for her at this stage. Any ideas? Kim
