Guest guest
and You can also count me in, I would love to help! (Ponseti as well as French Physiotherapy) There are obviously a lot of us who went directly to Dr. Ponseti, but it would be nice to list the state (regional area for places outside the U.S. also), the physician (and method), and then the reference family could put their name under the physician. Only families that wouldn't mind others contacting them would participate (the family doesn't necessarily have to be active on this board either). Guest guest
I think that would be awesome since we didnt get the Ponseti treatment I guess we got the traditional treatment right? Cant remember what you all call it.. LOL ANyway YES that would be cool cause I feel I have nothing at all in common with any of the Ponseti treated kids... Guest guest
OK, I created a table in the database where families can enter their information as a reference for a physician. Just go to the database section and click on Patient/Physician Information. Please let me know if I should add/delete any columns, or if the headings need more explanation. I figure the family can enter their email address, phone number, regular address or whatever they're comfortable posting as their contact information. They can then update it as they see fit. Physiotherapy folks, would you want a separate column for a therapist's name, or do you see multiple therapists and one physician? Regards, & 3-16-

Guest guest
Hi , I added a record, but don't seem to be able to edit it afterwards. I forgot to add my email address to the contact info. Thanks, Dorothy > OK, I created a table in the database where families can enter their > information as a reference for a physician. Guest guest
Shanna, Even though your doctor may not be using the Ponseti method, from what you have described, he has been doing some things similar to the Ponseti method. Have you been able to ask your doctor if there is a name to the method he is using? Has he mentioned how successful he is at his non-surgical method in percent of children treated? and (3-17-99) > I think that would be awesome since we didnt get the Ponseti treatment I > guess we got the traditional treatment right? Guest guest
Sounds good to me, too! Guest guest
Shanna, I think that your doctor would admit to using the Ponseti method if he was. So he really probably is not using the Ponseti method. It is just that a number of the things you have described are similar to or also a part of the Ponseti method such as full leg casts, tenotomy and DBB's. The things that you have mentioned so far that I can remember that are not a part of the Ponseti method are an initial short leg cast and reverse last shoes. Please let us know what he says about the percentage of children that he treats that have their feet corrected successfully without the major surgery. and (3-17-99) > Ahhhh I see. I just thought everyone using the Ponseti method was treated in > like 3 or 4 castings but now I understand... Okedoke. Well maybe he is using > the method and wont admit to it?
