Weighted Vest for Motor Apraxia?

Hello again!

I forgot to mentionin my last post that our OT is considering a weighted vest

for Elias. She feels that it would give him a better sense of where his body

is and help him to orient himself better. I know this can be helpful with

certain conditions, like sensory intergration dysfunction and theoretically it

makes sense. My only concern is that he has low muscle tone and fatigues quite

easily. He needs to be carried after walking only a block! His school day

is long (8-2 M-F) and he often comes home exhausted. I'm afraid of just how

tired he'll be if the weigheted vest is introduced. On the other hand, it may

help build some strength after the initial phase. I haven't been able to find

helpful info on the internet so again, advice is welcome!

Uzma
