Guest guest
, I am 16 weeks pregnant and 10 months post-op. I immediatly noticed an appetite change. I am always hungry. I am not joking, I can only go 2 or 3 hours without a snack. I even wake up at 4am sometimes starving. I eat when I am hungry but I try to eat " good " foods like protein and fruit. I have not gained any weight yet. I am NOT trying to diet. I am just eating sensibly and I eat whenever I am hungry. I think that you should listen to your body and eat when you are hungry. Juat make good food choices. Buckner LAP RNY 8-23-00 pre-op weight 260 pre-prgnancy weight 186 due date: 12-15-
Guest guest
NO not more fluids. YOur body is pretty good during pregnancy to tell you what it needs, You will eat more. Always protein first and no crap. then be careful to listen to your body and don't jsut use preg as an excuse to go overboard. You are building another being and need more fuel to do so. Guest guest
, I thought the fatigue would get better by now. It is still overwhelming. At 17 weeks, I still feel as if I can sleep 24 hours per day. I am beginning to wonder if I am ever going to feel " normal " again. I am not anemic, I already checked that. Has anyone else felt this way into the second trimester? Guest guest
Hi , I just wanted to write because we are about the same. I am 18 weeks pregnant and weighing 183 right now. I got pregnant 7 weeks after surgery. I am not showing at all and wondering if you are? That is the first thing people say to me when they see me and it makes me a little upset. I worry that I am not doing something right. I am a little tired but not like those first 3 months! Perhaps it's just taking a little longer for you to get out of the fatigue stage. Since everybody is different it's hard to tell. I am a teacher so I have the summer off and have no children yet, so I get to rest whenever I want. Perhaps you are doing too much. Keep me updated! I am excited that we are so close together in our pregnancies! a
Guest guest
a, It is nice to meet you. I am not showing at all either. As a matter of fact, I haven't told a lot of people at work that I am pregnant. I just wanted to keep it quiet since they have had to endure 3 miscarriages with me already. I feel " fat " and I can feel my uterus for sure. I just don't show yet. This would be fine if I didn't feel so big, does that make sense? I can still wear all of my clothes. Although, this is because I didn't buy many new things as I was shrinking. I am glad that I kept them now, they will make good maternity clothes, I think. As far as being tired, I know that I am doing to much. I work full time as a Registered Nurse in a busy Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and I am going to school full-time for my Master's in Nursing. I am trying to take it " easier " by having at least three days off in a row if it is possible. I envy you having the summer off. You deserve it though, teaching is a tough job. What grade do you teach? When is your due date? Do you know if it is a boy or a girl? I had a sono from a friend at work. He has 100% track record with predictions from his sono. I was only 151/2 weeks at the time but he thinks that it is a girl. I am happy either way. Of course, my hubby wants a boy. It is nice to talk to you. Let me know when your tummy pops out. I hear that sometimes it happens like that, almost over night. I'll talk to you later. Sorry for rambling. Guest guest
HI , So glad you wrote back. It will be so nice to compare notes as we travel along our pregnancy journey. Here's a little more about me! I am 28 yrs old, married for 2 1/2 years. My starting weight was 250 and I am now at 183. I had my surgery 12/27/00 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. We are having a boy but were hoping for a girl, oh well...next time! My due date....? I am not sure, it has changed. It is towards the end of Nov. I will get an exact date next week and let you know. I was so in shock when they told me a boy, that I really didn't hear the date.! I teach Kindergarten and love it but love the summer's off too! I am glad you are making plans to take it easy! Please try and rest some. What vitamins are you taking each day? How's your eating? Talk more soon! a
Guest guest
a, I am just the opposite. I desperatly wanted a boy but I am pretty sure that it is a girl. That is funny that we each felt the opposite. Honestly, I am happy I just had my heart set on a boy. My due date has changed every time that I go to the doctor as well. Last time he puched mr back 7 days. I told him that soon he would have me carrying this baby for 12 months. I take prenatal vitamins every night. I have 5 different brands that he gave me samples of so I take different ones all of the time. I have been taking them (although not faithfully) since my surgery in August. Eating is very easy. At this point, I am always hungry. I eat 6 small meals every day at least. I am trying to make healthy choices but honestly I don't always eat " right " . I find that at times I can eat a lot more than others. This morning I ate an entire sausage biscuit from Mcs. I had not been able to do that before. I was full for a few hours. I can eat tons of " bad " foods. Like fat free Pringles, I can eat 1/2 the can.(maybe the entire can if I allowed myself) " Good " foods like tuna fish and other protein, I can only eat a little bit. As of today, I haven't gained anything yet. Today I weighed 183. I know that I will gain so I am not worrying. After hearing from other people on this list, I am not worried about not gaining at this point. I know that the baby will take what she needs. I hope to have a " real " sonogram with measurements at my next visit so I can have a firm due date. Let me know when you get yours. I'll talk to you soon. Guest guest
Hi , It sounds like our eating habits are just the same, sometimes I can barely get down a chicken thigh but always have room for Funyums! I have been taking some chewable prenatals which are pretty good. Many times I forget to take them and know I have to do better. Has your hair fallen out? Mine has been falling out non stop for about 4 months! Ugh!!!! When will it stop. The poor baby is going to be scared when he sees a bald mother! Do you feel the baby move yet? MIne started moving about a week ago! I love it. Sometimes I just sit in a chair real quiet and concentrated so I can feel the flutters! Oh well, let me go start riping down the boarder in the nursery. a
Guest guest
a, I am very fortunate that I never lost any hair. I think it is because I lost weight so slow. I weighed 260 pre-op and lost about 20 pounds the first month and then 10-12 every month after that. I came to a screeching halt at 185 about 7 months post-op and then I got pregnant. So, I am at the 185 area now sometimes a pound or two loess, sometimes a pound or two more. I think that I feel my baby move but I am not 100% sure. Especially at night when I am lying on my back I really think that I feel her. What theme are you doing in your nursery? I atill need to make sure that I am having a girl before I pick one. I had a boy theme, and a boy name. I was so sure I was having a boy. I am not really sure why I was so sure that this baby is a boy, I just was. I will talk to you later. I had better get back to work. Buckner LAP RNY 8-23-00 pre-op weight 260 pre-prgnancy weight 186 due date: 12-5-

They told me I was having a girl, too, and out popped Isaac. Boy was I surprised! I had only brought girl things to the hospital. Thankfully my mom had brought along with her the little white unisex outfit that she had brought ME home in back in 1966, so we at least had something for him to wear home, poor kid. hehe -Kris

Hi Isobel - I'm laughing at your post, and wondering how it may be perceived by folks who aren't into horses Maybe you should tell the non-horsey crowd that a " wide warmblood " is actually a rather beautiful horse!!! Guest guest
> they mightn't understand 'poddling' either! > Whereabouts do you live? I'm in Michigan/US where warmbloods are a rather rare creature - most of our good dressage horses are thoroughbred crosses. And I'm not familiar with " poddling " , but I'm assuming it means the equivalent of " lazily riding around " ? Or as my instructor would say - not in a dressage " frame " . No matter what you call it, it has to feel great to be riding again!
