Guest guest Posted September 5, 2000 Report Share Posted September 5, 2000 I talked with the doc and he is sending her to a surgoun tomorow to run some tests. he is very concerned because of the swelling in her stomach. He is concerned that it might be cancer. I did not tell Tam this because I dont want her to get worried when we dont know for sure yet. Lord knows doctors have been known to be wrong. well I will keep you updated. I have been very busy lately taking care of Tam, the kids and I am trying the superman thing out and am taking 13 credits at college. can you say STUPID!!!!!!! I wish I lived nearby and I would come and give you some relief. Does the fluid ever leave her stomach when she stands up? It is a good sign if it does. Guest guest Posted September 10, 2000 Report Share Posted September 10, 2000 Hello everyone I hope you are all doing well. They did not find anything wrong as far as the swelling. Tam is now almost 25 pounds heavier. The doc put her on a dieretic today and she is losing some of the water. She feels alot better today, I think the TPN is giving her some well needed nutrition. They are going to ease her into food tomorow. The kids told her they want her to come home today because they miss her. I had the kids there for 3 1/2 hours today. all of the nurses came to see them, most of them have been seeing them since Bregan was 2 1/2 and Burke was 4 months. now they are 5 1/2 and 3. so they come in to see them when they are there. Guest guest Posted September 11, 2000 Report Share Posted September 11, 2000 My daughter in law is in the hospital with a horrid attack.this is the 12th one she has had in less than a year... Are there any natural alternatives to help her heal her body.it seems that each attack affects more of her other organs and she is sick longer--all they are doing is stabilizing her and sending her home.They have no answers and there seems to be no hope..she is taking enzymes. I can only explain my experience is in trying to live with chronic panc. I found I had to become very aware of how I was feeling and at the slightest " feeling " that any attack was to begin I went to a total rest attitude and if there was an increased " feeling " I tried to minimize all activity and begin taking codeine to stay ahead of the pain. I ate what I could and tried very hard to stay hydrated. For food I used carbohydrates like pasta (no sauce) bread, rice, etc. I think my best tolerated liquid was green tea (hot or cold). I also think that each individual is different and must experiment to find what works best for them. She has 8 more days to go and she gets to come home. The kids and I are very excited!!!!! Thanks to those who sent cards and called and talked to Tam on the phone, she loved talking to you. Guest guest Posted October 5, 2000 Report Share Posted October 5, 2000 Steve, I am so glad to hear about Tammy, I had planned on coming to see her again this week but I got pretty sick myself and have been home from work this week, If she is going to be at the main campus for awhile let me know so that I can go to see her I want to be on this meds for another day so that I know I won't give her anything.. I have a sinus infection and upper resp. infection I don't know if having pancreatis makes this worse but I have had these before and never kicked me in the butt like this.. and then having the pain in my stomach didn't help either this is the first day this week I have been on my puter my mother said she knew I was sick for me not to be on here...lol well I wish everyone a pain free day and Steve tell Tammy she is in my thoughts and prayers and I will be there to see her soon... take care Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

When the doctor took it out the infection shot out across the room. She now has a 3 inch round 2 inch deep open wound in her chest. They packed it full of gause, I have to change it once a day, it looks real bad. She screams when I change it. IT NEVER ENDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The doc said they have to leave the wound open to let the infection out, it keeps leaking out. I hope this works because she is in alot of pain.
