Hello,

I'm new here and about 10 weeks. I had 2 vbg's done in 2000 and I am looking

for info on complications that people have had post-op and being pregnant.

Thank You,

Hi Dawn,

Afraid I can't answer any of your questions since I am a Kaiser Richmond

patient - however I do want to say welcome aboard. This group has been an

incredible source of information and support for me and I hope that it proves

to be the same for you.

All the best,

Kay

Hello all,

I joined your group today. I am female, 51, and weight 335, 5'7". I

live in Anaheim. I found out a few things in advance and so even

though I just got my actual referral from my PCP, I have gone to the

weight management class, bariatic surgery class at Kaiser, and the

one for PB(Pacific Bariatric), in Riverside. At least for Orange

County, there have been some fairly recent changes in that you don't

need to go to a Psychiatrist or a Nutritionist for Kaiser approval. I

was told initially I had to go to a Psychiatrist, so I did and he is

the one who informed me I didn't have to anymore. He did, however,

send a email to my doctor saying that I would be a good candidate

from a psychological point of view. You do have to go to the

Bariatric Surgery Orientation class, where you will get some forms

that are needed. I completed those, including diet history and gave

them to my doctor. She has set me up for labs and I get those done

next Monday, March 29.

Have any of you gone through approval in Orange county? if so, can

you tell me more about what happens next from the point I am at. At

the orientation for PB, they gave me papers to complete and a test to

do. Do I send those now, or wait until I get a referral letter? I

wonder why I am having labs if I am not approved??

By the way, I was very excited when I learned there was a support

group just for Kaiser patients. I have ready quite a few of the old

messages, but since you guys have posted almost 9000, I can't read

them all. I hope I am not making you repeat alot of information with

the questions I am asking.

Thank you,

Dawn
