Thanks Dawn, I will probably take you up on that offer. I'm glad about your dogs...hehe. I'm heading off to relax in bed myself so good night to everyone, sleep well, and I will talk to you all tomorrow night. Unfortunately I have to go have more blood work done in the morning and then go in to the office for a little bit. It will be a long day for me but knowing I can come home and have all of you to talk to makes things a little brighter for me already. Sweet dreams everyone!

Good Evening Everyone,

Well it is that time again, I want to say good night. I hope that each and every one of you had a nice day and that you found at least one reason to be happy. My Homer (last dog) did not try to jump the other two so, that was my good news for the day. lol Lori, I would be more than happy to answer any and all questions that you want to ask me about Spina Bifida. If you want to e-mail me off the list that is fine too. It is up to you. Oh wow, you lived in Virginia. My GodFather lives there and we go down there a lot. Welcome to all of other new members. It is so wonderful to have you with us. Well my friends, it is late and I am tired. Good night until tomorrow. Sincerely, Dawn :)

Hi Lori,

Where in Florida are you? I am in the Ocala area. Are you happy with your pain management doctor? I am having a terrible time finding a decent one.

Right now I go to Tampa to see a doctor which is a two hour almost three hour drive. Unfortunately the local pain management doctors are both disgusting with bedside manner and unwilling to give out pain medication on the level that most RSD patients take.

Hi Janet,

When I first got RSD I used to have these attacks where I was freezing cold but sweating so that I had to change clothes and sometimes even the blanket I was huddling under would get sopping wet. I had this for years and has eased off somewhat, at least not several times a day but often at night I will have one of those cold then hot in minutes, will put on a light weight night gown and then have to change to heavier and get under blanket then take of blanket then nightgown all within about five minutes. Used to drive Greig crazy but he is used to it now. I am the first person he has met that is colder than him! Although I have to admit I was always the coldest person in the room even before I got RSD. When I lived up north I spent most of the winter under a blanket even when dressed. Here in Florida I had to wear long sleeves when others are comfortable in air conditioning.

HI Lori,

As soon as I had RSD I started having problems with my period. I had it very infrequently after years of clockwork cycles. I actually went into pre-menopause early at about 40 and menopause at 45. I worked with my gyno to try and regulate my cycle with hormones but it didn't work.

Hi Lori and S,

I have you all beat when it comes to the animal count. I have ten cat, well eight cat and two kittens. We have three dogs now down from five last year, it was a very sad year for the dogs around here.

I also have two horse and a mini mule. I used to have a goat but seem to have bad luck keeping goats alive so am trying very hard not to get another one until all the fences are fixed up.

Felice,

I'm in South Florida, near Ft. Lauderdale. No, I'm having a terrible time with doctors too. I'm seeing a neurologist who thankfully is willing to provide medication but he is very hard to deal with. They mostly do things over the phone which is a good concept so I don't have to drive, but they never call back. I'm not even seeing a pain doctor as of yet, the one he sent me to told me he couldn't help me. I'm going to another one in April, so we'll see how that goes. I'm also going to a new neurologist in April because I can't stand the one I"m with. He didn't even tell me about not using ice, he knows I use it 24 hours a day. Sorry I can't be of more help!

Felice,

Thank you for writing back, I'm relieved to know I'm not the only one. Sorry that the hormones did not work for you I don't know how mine will go. I'm 32 but have missed 2 in a row now. <sigh>

LOL Felice, to say you have us beat is an understatement!! That's great though, pet are the best. I love horses, and dogs too but I live in an apartment, it wouldn't be fair and I wouldn't be able to take care of them. Kittens are the best too, mine is growing up so fast, I miss when he could sit in my hand. = ) Lori
