Guest guest
For three weeks I have been having lower FBGs than ever before Averaging 4.8 = 86, but yesterday I awoke to cramps in my right leg. So I got up and tested my BG - it was 6.7=121. My food the day before was essentially the same as usual, so I'm wondering if others have had high BGs after leg cramps. BTW I used to have leg cramps 35 -40 years ago during pregnancies. In 1971 I had my left long saphenous vein stripped and have not had leg crapms since. Last nigh we had a blackout for two hours - my BG went up to 133 - guess I'll have to get used to it as this is the time of the year we have lots of electrical storms! Guest guest
Bea, and anyone else who suffers leg cramps -- I have a way to get rid of them that has always worked 100% for me. When a cramp comes -- be it in the foot or leg -- I put my index finger under my nose (like a mustache) and press upwards and inward just as hard as I can and count to 50. By the time I reach 50 the leg cramp is always gone. Sometimes a cramp wakes me from sleep and is VERY severe but this method still works. I think this is an acupressure point. Anyway, it doesn't cost anything...so next time you get a cramp, remember this method and give it a try. And please let me know if it works for you. Guest guest
Thanks Vicki I'll try that next time although I had no problem - the cramp and pain went as soon as I put my foot to the floor. I suspect my FBG indicates a sudden physiological stressor - I hope so cos I like having lower FBGs Bea Vicki wrote > Bea, and anyone else who suffers leg cramps -- I have a way to get rid > of them that has always worked 100% for me. Guest guest
Dear Bea, You might be getting that leg cramp from dehydration or from low potassium levels. Susie
