Hi,

Just wanted to say a quick HI to everyone,I am not sure if i have posted

yet.. LOL

I broke my foot last Sept.,and approx. 4 weeks later was dignosed with

RSD.

It was a nightmare trying to get Doctors to understand RSD since the

majority have never heard of it,so I had to bring info off of the

internet!

That was an extremely hard time both emotionally and physically.

I now have a wonderful Pain Doctor,I do have to brag a little,He is a

graduate of Hopkins Loyola,Stanford,Mayo,Dr. of Anestsiology(SP)? I

was sooo blessed to find him! He is so caring!

At this point I am on Norco 4 x per day, which is jst vicodin with a

higher dose of hydrocodone and less APAP,and xanax xr 3 mg twice a day.I

have had panic attack, and anxiety for so many years, this new time

released is great, cuz you dont have that up and down feeling, remebering

to take one every 4 hours etc.

I did try the Methodone for 6 weeks,I got up to 15 mgs. per day,but I

just couldnt handle it.

I am also in PT for people with RSD.

well,thats enough chattering!

I hope to meet some of you soon.

Blessings,

~~Sharon~~

To All, and Especially New Members,

You have come to the right place. We have a bragging ex-hippie (but I could fall there too), me, Greybeard the Wonder Dog, a committee nominating two of our members as president and vice president, and a group of people like you will never meet elsewhere. Everyone is caring, sharing, compassionate, and wonderful beyond words.

Since I haven't posted in a couple of days, this will be a wordy one. For those taking Methadone I tried that, but I got nasty headaches on it so we have now moved to MS Contin at night and immediate release morphine every 4 to 6 hours. As far as the Duragesic patches go you are unable to cut those into smaller chunks because the drug is free floating inside the patch. I tried it for about a month, but with my insurance the copay was just outrageous.

Lori, you have my permission to take any of my posts, and I don't care of they see my name. My only sticking point is if they offer to give Greybeard the Wonder Dog a rabies shot. It may help you get your point across, but doing so in a fashion that doesn't burn the bridge that you are standing on.

I am volunteering to let Tonia ride on my shoulders to Washington DC, and see if we can out the current residents. Don't despair if we can't boot them out, you could probably scare the current Attorney General, and you can assume that role. With the rest of us being so sensitive we could become the "Untouchables".

If you haven't guessed it yet, I love being a member of this group and they are more beneficial than you could ever imagine. I had a horrible day about two weeks ago, and the group converted me from I just give up, to I will never give up. Once again welcome, and I hope I get to know you all.

Thanks....

Mark B

I hope to meet some of you soon.Blessings,~~Sharon~~

Hi Sharon, welcome! You are so very lucky to have found your doctor and also a therapist for RSD. I'm still searching so I was wondering where you live? I am in South Florida, near Ft. Lauderdale, though I'm willing to travel a little bit. Please let me know, I'm desparate! I'm also new to this group so I wanted to say hi. Thanks, Lori

Mark, thank you for your post, it shows what a wonderful group this is. I plan on taking all of this useful information to my doctor on Thursday though in a careful way, I can't burn the bridge yet. I have nobody else to provide my medication so I'm stuck for now. I plan on putting it lightly so as not to offend him. I look forward to getting to know you better. Have a great day! Lori

Sharon - Welcome to the group....and glad to see you posting. It's terrific that you've found a doc with whom you feel comfortable and are getting early treatment. Lord knows that's at least half of the battle. Hope to see you more often. Barbaraxcalibr1@... wrote:
