I was afraid to bring it up, well embarassed really, but I'm glad I did as so many are going through the same thing that I am. I've heard Birkenstocks are pricey but if they are comfy I don't care. I'm especially looking for a pair of sandals that I can wear. I wear the same clothes to work week after week because I can't find shoes to wear. I could not wear anything else on my foot once rsd hit it and also watch QVC and find there shoes are quite a bit less than in stores and also offer styles that stores do not always offer. I own about 5 pairs of Birkenstocks and cannot complain about them at all, not that foot doesn't hurt just doesn't hurt as much wearing those sandals as with other shoes tried so far. Take care Rhonda and Sandi and hope you will let us all know what your doctor says about your toenails. Think there might be others with similiar problems. Hugs s Momma JoAnn Re: Toe and foot problems have turned yellow and are trying to grow in to my skin. My big toe is straight but all my other toes on right foot are curling under. Rhonda, Thanks! My right foot except for my big toe is sort of sideways do the same thing. They are yellow and growing into skin. When I went to podiatrist he said it was from RSD and he had information he wanted to show me the next visit. I also have a thick stuff that is under the big toe nails but not under the others but they are all split. I found birkenstocks on television, QVC shopping channel or at www.qvc.com. When they have them on there is a representative from Birkenstock on the air most of the time to answer questions, etc. Since they are expensive I found I can get them more reasonable there and some times they break the payment into three months which is helpful.
