Guest guest
Hi.... For depression, I take effexor 112mg. For vulvar pain, I take 50 mg elavil and 25 mg nortriptyline. I have been pain free on all elavil, but the sedation really bothers me, so that's why I swapped 25mg elavil for 25 nortrip. I am not pain free now, but I have been, so I know it's possible. And my pain now is minimal. Minimal, but annoying. Unfortunately, when I don't keep up with exercises my pt gave me, I have more pain, and I have slacked off on them. I am going to talk to my doc about lyrica, to see if I could get better results. I did really well in the past with a tricyclic/neurontin combo, but couldn't tolerate neurontin's side effects, so had to get off it. Unfortunately for me... Elavil just works better than nortrip or desipramine. I've heard of women getting pain free with Effexor at 150 or more, and I tried that, but found it didn't impact my pain. We're all so different! I also take DHEA because my hormone tests indicated that was low, and I use estradiol at night to keep the skin in that area in good shape. I had surgery which was great for contact pain and has enabled me to have sex. For depression, I have always done great with prozac, but I hate the side effects too much to take it. Hope this helps some.... Unfortunately for me, my road with depression has been long so I have taken a lot of different drugs for that.
