Guest guest
That is just like Crystal is. She is fascinated with Lady Bugs. But, then if the cats catch a mouse or a snake, Crystal will actually CHASE the cats for hours trying to get it back from them! A few times, she actually has caught up with the cat and got the mouse or snake from them....yikes! She will then bring the animal to me....double/triple YUCK! I keep telling her that its the cats' lunch....let them eat it. Oh No...that would be the end of the world! lol (It IS really funny watching her and the cats run back and forth thru the house, up and down the steps to the basement and back up.....and, since I know that it will tire her out, I just let her go! hehehe) She finally learned her lesson though about picking Any kind of animal up last year.....she grabbed a wasp! After having a very painful swollen 3 fingers for about a week.....she stopped picking them up! Its bad though when you have to let a little kid learn the hard and painful way. But, she absolutely would not listen to us about there being dangerous animals. She thinks that they are all gentle like Lady Bugs. But, then she found out that THEY aren't harmless either! Last year we was out in the hills over in Nebraska, around the Macy Indian Reservation.....where there are these little sales/auctions that we went to Once a Month. Well, for some reason, the lady bugs were all over.....covering anything and everything....and they BITE you! Seriously!!! So, she has figured out that if there are millions and billions of them around (like at the Reservation)....they are dangerous. But, if she finds one or two....if they can't fly away fast enough, well, she will end up trying to sleep with them. I don't know how many lady bugs I've found crawling around the house. THEN the worms! YIKES! If we would go fishing....we had to HIDE the worms from her and try to sneak them out of the cup and onto the hooks before she'd see us doing it. Otherwise, she would take off with the worms and we would be out of luck! I have found so many dead dry worms in the bed, pockets....everywhere! Her Grandparents also had a Bait Shop along with the Convience Store they owned.....and Crystal would go in there, grab a cupped up dozen of worms and walk out without anyone noticing. Then, we'd go somewhere and not realize that she had already had them hidden in the car. ....believe me, after having a dozen worms sit in a car for about 15 hours.....they'd be dead and very stinky! We finally started to constantly watch her...and made her Grandfather stop just giving them to her...(he would have a couple of sets of cups off to the side that he had cupped up that only had 3 or 4 to them just for her).....but, she would still grab them from there or outside after it rained, and stick them in her pocket! Ugh....trust me, Worms in a Washing machine is NOT a fun thing to find......neither was dead dried ones on a bed hidden under the blankets..... So, I really hope for your sake, your Granddaughter sticks with Lady Bugs only! lol. Otherwise, she'll go from them to worms, to snakes and anything else! (oh yeah, flies were another fun one to deal with!) Tonia -------Original Message------- Tonia, My 4 yr old grandbabies nickname is ladybug. She loved the picture. Im gonna print it if thats ok and hang it in her room. LOL her favorite color is red too. I call her ladybug, My husband calls her smart cookie. But theres a story about the ladybug. We were outside playing one day when she was 2.( she turned 3 in dec of that year) Well we found a 4 leaf clover in the grass. She was so excited. Then right next to it was a ladybug. We had to go in the house and get a shoe box and make her a house ( the ladybug lol).Needless to say the ladybug had to come inside with her that night and stayed in the house and box for a while not sure how long. But anyways, She got out of her box and we couldnt find her. Destiny was all upset and crying. Oh naw naw my bestfriend is gone. Yes she was two lol. So i went all over that room looking for it. To no avail. We couldnt find her. The next day Destiny comes out of her room saying oh Naw Naw I found my ladybug and had her little fist clinched so tight. I said well just dont squeeze her to tight you might hurt her. So she opened up her little hand and nothing was there. And i gasped i was like oh my goodness she gonna start crying again. Ladybug is gone again. Well she didnt and she said do you see her Naw Naw and i said oh yes isnt she so pretty. For at least a year we pretented it was there lol. She even had to take it every where we went. She would act like she was picking it up and putting it down and everything. One day we started to the store and got half way down the road and she said oh Naw Naw i forgot my friend and i was like oh she'll be ok while were gone and she started crying. Oh she will be scared, mommy( meaning her lol) didnt tell her where we were going. I had to go back and act like i got this pretend ladybug lol. She was crying real tears. She carried her little fist clinched that whole year lol like it was really there. In the minds of babes i swear.. THE END lol JB ____________________________________________________ IncrediMail - Email has finally evolved - Click Here
