Normally, I would agree. However, in this case Duncan challenged

us to do this. When I did it myself, Google gave me 1024 hits for

him. if you look at the links which posted, you will see that

for the most part they are web-based health discussion forums. Duncan

seems to spend a great deal of time posting to forums like this to

promote his products.

I regret being confrontational. And I apologize to you for

offending you. However, Duncan's honesty is at issue here. He

represented himself as a diabetic seeking support. Instead, his sole

purpose appears t o be promoting his commercial products. My

challenge to him was an attempt to get him to reveal himself. And it

succeeded. He's stated he's not diabetic. In another of today's

posts, he said he has no interest in learning about the management of

diabetes. Then why is he here?

I believe it's important to know whether there are any secret

agendas in the posts we read. If the will of the group is for Duncan to

remain on this list, then it is at least it is now in the open that he

is here to earn his living by advertising and selling his commercial

products. At least now, he can be begin being honest in his posts.

Well, that's the question here about Duncan. Has he falsified

his intent here? Is his purpose solely to commericalize? I would

welcome a spammer to this forum were he here to discuss the management

of diabetes, if he contributed either questions or answers to diabetic

issues. However, Duncan hasn't done that. His history of posting is a

history of promoting products, however, surreptitiously.

Agreed.

Commercial solicitation *is* a violation of the lists rules.

They are posted at the Yahoo page for this group.

To many people, diabetes is the " Perfect Disease. " It is a leading

cause of death, yet we stay alive long enough that charlatans can

shake us down for years, separating us from our hard-earned money by

appealing to our fears and desire to heal. Who knows more about

diabetes than those of us who have lived with it every day for years

and years? We all know that, while we can reverse many diabetes

complications, there is no actual cure for the disease - we must

always be vigilant once we show signs. And we also know that while

vitamins and herbs can be helpful to those who need them, we cannot

find in them a " cure for diabetes. "

As a diabetic who cares a great deal about my fellow diabetics, I

don't like people joining diabetes groups to plug commercial products.

To be sure these are NOT personal attacks. Rather a quest for

justification of what has been said. If we accept all information at

face value and neglect to investigate it's sources and validity then

we are destined to live a very ignorant lifestyle guided by those who

MAY want to solely make a profit off of others at any expense.

I respectfully disagree. There has been an enormous amount of personal

attacks over the last 24 hours.

I completely agree.

everyone has the right to there opinion, I joined this group to get usefull

information, I have seen very littlein useful informantion; just norrow

mindedness, myself included sometimes. Just remember that what is good or works

for one person my not necessarlly work for others. We are all different.

The web is full of info some good some not so good. research it I have found a

lot of helpfull things that way, and chack out someone theory it am just work.

what have you lost just a little time.

chris carpenter wrote:Greetings all, I RE subscribed to

get some information, and to see if things had changed from being a petty

flooding of people picking at others to a list interested in discovery of a

chronic disease thats difficult to understand even for a healthcare

professional. I left last time because I had the audacity to suggest we discuss

homeopathy and how it might be useful. I was attacked like the anti-christ. No

discovery THERE!!

I was sadly dissapointed to see no information passed in the last 4 days, and

have been flooded with over 60 postings of people attacking other peoples

credibility instead of trying to learn about diabetes.

A persons credentials are irrelevant. The joy of free speech is if everybody

contributes, and everybody uses the information in the best possible way, then

we learn. Duncan MAY possibly make money from what he does, but what he

consistantly does on this list and other lists I am on is to inform people.

Credible or not, all you have to do is searches on the terms he gives and you

learn. Duncan is CONSTANTLY contributing to this list, and you don't appreciate

it , whether its true or not is up to YOU to find out. Take a little personal

responsability instead of attacking someone else to make yourself SEEM credible.

I truthfully don't know why he wastes his time with you, I don't.

Don't bother with the routine attacks I have grown accustomed to see on this

list, for I will be unsubscribed. This list is emotionally toxic and I don't

have the time to review 30 posts a day to find the one that MIGHT be helpful.

I wonder why anyone would be attacked for mentioning Homeopathy. Although when

my in-laws first suggested it in the '70's for allergies, I thought they were

talking about witch doctors. I subsequently found some merit there. I am always

interested in the holistic approach. I did very well with allergy shots,

combined with homeopathy, and Shaklee. What did what???? I also was cured of a

bladder infection that took a year to clear. G
