Guest guest
Tim, This is an awfully strange disease... sometimes something very minor will cause me excrutiating pain, however, the weirder thing (I think) is when I do injure myself (paper cut, small burn, etc.) it hurts like the devil for a couple of seconds and then STOPS hurting... a day or two later, the pain comes back with a venegence... delayed pain... very strange. Guest guest
Has anyone ever had a reaction like this to something so minor? Tim, Yes! I have been there many times. Did that pebble feel like an Ice Pick? I have a difficult time wearing shoes since my feet swell so bad and socks are not an option for me, more than one pair has been cut off. When I go out I wear Birkenstock's but around the house I try to at least keep a flipflop sandal on, anything to protect the feet. Hoping for Pain Free Days,Sandi
Guest guest
Jo, This was the first time anything like this has happened was kind of suprised at the reaction. Looks like this is one long learning experience. Guest guest
Sandi, I really don't know how to describe it, the pain shot up my leg so fast...it really overwhelmed my senses so the only thing I can really remember is getting up off the ground. I normally wear house shoes but couldn't remember where I kicked them off last..won't be doing that again Tim > In a message dated 5/21/2004 9:15:41 AM Eastern Daylight Time, > ilducks2004@y... writes: > Has anyone ever had a reaction like this to something so minor? > Tim, > Yes! Guest guest
To everyone: It occured to me yesterday when I saw the Iris Festival signs here in Oregon that my sister and I were walking a 12k race, what a difference a year makes. Lin Lin, I to have looked back in time, back before I had been told what was wrong with me. It was about this time last year that I made the decision that I was going to go back to forest fire fighting this year. I know that it hit me pretty hard when I looked back and thought about. I can now realize that nothing will ever be like it was a year ago. Since you are on this side of the country I know that you have had bad weather lately. The last 24 hours in eastern Washington have been rather challenging to someone with RSD/CRPS. Since this time yesterday we have had several bouts of semi large hail, many periods of extremely heavy rain, and a tornado. I was always under the impression that if you have mountainous terrain, you will not have tornadoes. I admit that this was nothing like you folks in the Plains, but it was rather interesting. The other saving grace was that it did not last long, or develop much strength. I am working on catching up with everyone and how they are doing. I also know that there are several new members that I have to meet. I have been having a real hard time with my arm because of the weather, having my grandson here to roughhouse with, and my own stupidity. Rough housing with my grandson also falls under the " my own stupidity " category. Also under that category are the things that you have always done before, but don't think fast enough to prevent the major onslaught of pain. I hope I pick up common sense pretty so or I will be in bad shape. Dawn, thank you for sharing the smiles that you cause with your good cheer. I wish there could have been a better outcome for Daisy. I also thank you for the plumber's tale. You had me rolling on the floor with that one. JoAnn,my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family with the loss of your sister. We all know that she is over her pain now, and is at home. I still have big ears and shoulders if you need to borrow them. , thank you for the compliment on the " new me " . My little sister Rhonda helped convince me of this change. I do not plan to ever go back to the old me. In response to your though that I might have shaved, the last time I completely shaved my beard was so long ago that my daughter has never seen my full face. To the rest of the group that I haven't singled out I apologize, but figured I had better cut the length of this e-mail. I hope all are having less pain, and even a few pain free minutes or hours. Take and know that I will be caught up eventually. Guest guest
Lin, Was sitting outside with friends and the topic came up where we were a year ago. It brings sadness to me how life can change so fast. Hope you all have some pain free minutes. Guest guest
PS> I don't think any of us ever get used to the changing body. It's a day to day and sometimes minute to minute struggle. I was never any good at change anyways, that's minnesotain Aceptance is another thing. If I didn't stay commited I would not be where I'm today. Your all in my thoughts, and prayers' Laurie
Guest guest
Lin, I'm lucky I live in a high rise. but some of the area is underwater. and it's suppose to rain all week. I pray for the people near river's and streams. We have had a drought so long the ground can't soak up all the rain. Thanks for thoughts.
