Guest guest
Great Janie, I am interested in info on this too! Did you remove your silver fillings? Has anybody here had their fillings removed, and did you notice any change in your health once you did? Also, tell us about the procedure....how many can be removed in one visit? Do they knock out the pain? Expensive? Worth it?? Janie
Guest guest
I went through that process two years ago. In addition to low thyroid, I am allergic to many, many things including petroleum products, solvents, fragrances, and most cleaning products. One thing that was suggested to me was to have my amalgams removed thinking that removing the mercury may help my sensitivity issues. Most of my fillings were old and beginning to decay, so it made sense. I found a dentist who had mercury toxicity at one time and he uses as inert as possible materials and uses very safe practices when removing the fillings as you can inhale mercury fumes as the fillings are being removed if they are not removed properly. For me, he suggested porcelain as I have a problem with plastics. I had 5 fillings to be replaced and he removed them within 4 visits. I had a temporary put on after removal and then would go back for a follow up visit to have the porcelain put in. We did this over a period of a year - to give my body time to rest (and my wallet - $500 per filling) between visits. After each removal, I took charcoal capsules, lots of Vitamin C and lots of water for several days afterward as a precaution. For my husband, the dentist put in composite fillings ($125 a piece) that were light-cured. My husband had many fillings, so the dentist did one quadrant at a time and did them over a period of a year. My husband followed the same charcoal, Vit C and water routine even though he does not have any sensitivity issues. There was no dramatic change in my health by doing this. Some people go through chelation sessions afterward to help remove heavy metals from their systems. I am unable to do this because it is quite expensive to do. As a whole, I believe my health is better. I am doing lots of different things and removing the amalgams was just one step of many I have taken toward better health. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I had all mine removed and it has been a difficult thing because the new fillings have had to be redone several times and still are sensitive to cold, heat, sweet and pressure. Many people are sensitive to the material, I am one. I also have a 750 dollar onlay for three sides. I had a few done one time and a feww the next major visit. I switched dentists and still have trouble getting the fillings to work. As far as feeing better since they were done, no! > >Reply-To: NaturalThyroidHormones >To: NaturalThyroidHormones >Subject: Did you remove your silver fillings? >Date: Thu, 05 Aug 2004 04:39:14 -0000 >
