Shomon will have a book out on Sept 1 that goes over losing

weight when you have thyroid problems. Don't know much more than that.

Some of this might depend on what the other med is Cris.

Hi, Cris,

I hear that progesterone helps some lose weight. I'll let you know, once I ever

get started on it.

in Va.

-----

I fought to get down - I didn't weigh what you did. And I'd been set where I

was

for almost 2 years. then I went off of my synthroid and on the armour, and

I've

jumped about 10 pounds. I think it is several things - not enough armour,

plus,

possibly another medicine. I'd taken 500 mg and done ok - they added 100 to

it,

and I started to put on the pounds - thing is, I did that at the same time as

the armour - so I don't know which caused it. I don't think it's the armour

itself - its not enough meds. and I have no control over this. no matter how

much I eat, or don't eat.

before, I had let eating get away - because I figured it didn't make a

difference, and the pounds creaped up. My big helper was someone else to help

monitor me. It kept me on the straight and narrow path -

I don't have someone monitoring me now either - but I did fine for over a year

that way.

if you come up with any good thoughts, let me know!

I know, when I did weight watchers, they said people will plateau - and then

start to lose again. I'm not sure about the time of 1 year though.

Was just wondering if anyone here is working on their weight

currently? I'd like to know what you're doing and what is working

for you.

Thanks

Be well..

I haven't been able to lose anything since I started taking thyroid meds. I even

gained when my TSH went up over a year ago. Finally though I'm beginning to see

some weight loss since I started taking Metformin ER about 2 months ago.

When we get the thyroid stuff in order sometimes there are other reasons why we

can't lose. I did a lot of research and pushed for testing for insulin

resistance and PCOS and it paid off with a diagnosis.

well - I know the other med can cause weight gain. I had been on the 500 mg for

a while tho and only up'd it 100 mg (one pill) - it's the neurontin -

I think right now I'm working on a combination of not enough armour - and that

I'm taking the neurontin.
