Guest guest
Kim, your reactions are most likely one of two things. Pit tumor or low ferritin. Have you had an MRI or your ferritn tested
Guest guest
and!! from what has been mentioned fairly recently on here, the references to adrenal problems aren't the extreme - they are adrenal fatigue, which, most doctors aren't familiar with, and don't recognize. Someone sent in a link to a site that had a graph - it was excellent - maybe someone can send it in again - I can't find it !! but - here are some links I've bookmarked from the group on adrenals - http://www.adrenalfatigue.org/ http://www.drrind.com/article.asp http://www.diagnose-me.com/cond/C17669.html http://personal.atl.bellsouth.net/w/u/wurmstei/Peatfield_Suggest.htm http://www.fudgedesign.co.uk/tuk/diag/adrenal.htm http://www.womensnaturalhealth.biz/articlepage.php?id=6 Cris Re: problem with meds -Hi Kim, I haven't yet read the other posts, but i am probably going to reiterate what they have already said. SOunds like adrenal problems. You know, it just occured to me that I read an article months back that talked about this very thing. The patient tried Armour and claimed that she was having the symptoms you described. The doctor in this article responded by saying that if the same symptoms were felt with synthroid or synthroid and cytomel (which he said he suspected would happen), then it was not the problem with Armour. Most people tolerate it very well, so look to adrenal problems. Anyway, I have had some similar problems, but I started my level of Armour at 1/4 grain and went up from there. At one point I got so anxious that I increased too quickly (which would have been not quick at all for most) and it was disasterous. Anyway, I am back on adrenal support and I am up to 2 grains. I know you can do this. This group is so good with helping people out. Also, check your ferritin. I had low ferritin levels and so have many others on here. SOme people here have had really LOW levels. Your hemoglobin etc... will probably look normal (as did mine and I am sure the rest of us), but the iron storage was not normal or optimal. I hope you find your answers soon so that you can get to feeling better. What dose of Armour, synthroid etc.. did your doctor start you on? Oh, by the way, I was started on Synthroid 75 mcg first, and after a few weeks, I had breathlessness, high anxiety (panic attacks at night), fast pounding heart, loose bowels etc... It scared the ever living crap out of me. Does this sound familiar? That was last December through the beginning of this past March when I finally switched over to Armour. If I can do it, you can too !!!!!!! > Hi everyone, > > My name is Kim. I am a member but haven't posted in quite awhile. > > I was diagnosed with Hashimitoes disease last year. Guest guest
Kim, Do you have your results that you can post here? The test that you were injected with something, that's the ACTH stim test. Dr. Jefferies ( " Safe Uses of Cortisol " ) says that the number should at least double. Most normal people will triple. But the doctors say something like if either number is above 18 it's normal. They are only looking for 's or Cushing's. They aren't looking for adrenal fatigue. Don't give up! in Va. Hi Shana, Thank you for your support and reminding me about the adrenals. I had two different tests of my Cortisol levels. One was all at once and the other needed a blood test every half hour after injecting me with a cortisol stimulating substance or something like that. Both came out normal. This is so difficult. I am disabled and do have alot of stress in my life. I'm sure that doesn't help my Thyroid. I anm taking B complex, Siberian Ginging and Thyroid support herbal remedy. Hopefully they will help some. Thanks again, kim
