Guest guest
It did help me feel less hungry. I quickly reached the point where DH was saying " isn't it time for you to eat? I'm hungry, so you must be hungry. It's been 4 hours, don't you want something to eat? " I'm not sure that it helped me lose weight. It may have helped me not put any weight back on, though. Robin G. Hi, I am thinking about asking my doctor for glucophage and I have some questions for those of you that are on it. Did it help you lose weight? Did it help you feel less hungry all the time? Occasionly I have read this and I'm just wonderring if anybody here has experienced this? Thanks
Guest guest
I have been on glucophage a short time and it seems to make me much less hungry. I often feel I could skip a meal. I have not weighed lately. My Dr thought it might help me lose the weight. My bg now is mostly in the 80's. G

G > A lot of people report a one time weight loss when starting the drug. I think it's probably because it lowers your insulin resistance. Another way of putting it is that it lowers your set point, which you will be reading about in that book. Edd

Edd I would take weight loss any healthy way I can get it. Thanks for this additional info. No time to read that book today. What a day and the rest of the week seems about as hectic. But soon I shall read on weight loss difficulties etc. There is a lot of reading there. A new friend with diabetes has to loss 55 lbs to have surgery for a hernia. The Dr said otherwise it is cutting through 5 inches of fat. Any suggestions?G

Fat buries the surgical sight and makes visualization difficult, and it liquefies and gets in the way and contaminates. And when patients are trying to recover from surgery, the extra weight they haveto drag around puts that much more stress on their lower limbs, like hips and knees. One reason I want to continue loseing weight, slowly, is that it's nearly impossible for me to carry a bucket of water because my bones are becoming so soft. I've already lost the weight of a five-gallon bucket of water, which is likely prolonging my life. Susie
Guest guest
Yes, I found Glucophage makes me NOT hungry all the time. I also found the South Beach diet foods keep me hunger free as well. An older lady I know has found this too. We now eat by the clock or we might not eat at all. For years my " natural thin " husband has forgotten to eat and that did not compute with me. FORGET TO EAT???? Well, now I could easily do the same. I try to eat my correct portions regularly. It is an amazing situation for me and also the other lady. She says she has gone from being hungry all the time to never being the least bit hungry at all. I feel the same most of the time. G
