Guest guest
I tried the Breeze, but it was consistently 20-30 points higher than the bgs at the doctor's office, so switched to the Precision Xtra, which is right on with the dr's, but the strips are so expensive that I'm going to WalMart and Walgreens next to see how those work. Guest guest
I use the One Touch Ultra and I test about 13 times a day -- when I get up, before, one a nd t wo hours affter all meals, before and after exercise and at bedtime. I can afford to do this because I have excellent insurance that covers 90% of strips cost. I may never be able to afford to retire though. Vicki, LADA type 1 diagnosed 1997, UL and Humalog insulin and lotsa testing, no complications. Guest guest
i use the lifescan ultra...test two to four times a day. some folks would think i was freaky to do it 'so much' when i have been doing pretty well on my test results...but i find i eat better when i am reminded of where i should be, and when the numbers are good i feel better too knowing my a1c will be good down the liine...and so far it has been within normal most of the time. Guest guest
What kind of blood glucose monitor does everyone use? How often/when do you test? I use the Precision Q.I.D by medisense. It's the only kind I've ever used...when it wears out, the company sends me a new one. I guess they make their money on the strips. It seems pretty accurate, and it's small and easy to use, so I've stuck with it. I test at least 8 times a day... in the morning, before and after each meal, and before I take my insulin shot in the evening. Sandy
