Particularly for Danette as she is so worried about dropping beef from the

household diet, but info for others as well, as Australia is an island and

our customs dept. are very strict we have been lucky to escape this (at

least for now) but I read in the paper a week or so ago that some UK

lipsticks (and possibly other make up products) contain animal by products

and could very well harbour mad cow Ekkkkkk!!! sorry to pass this little

gem along.

Are people getting this disease. So far I have not heard of anyone

becoming ill? I know the possibility is there but have not heard any

reports of actual ill people.

Hey, I was watching a special on this disease, and there is no way to kill it... even when the burn the cattle, the ashes are and stay infected with it... it is really something...... they have to store the ashes in a huge warehouse.... ----- Original Message ----- From: Kim Paroissien Particularly for Danette as she is so worried about dropping beef from thehousehold diet, but info for others as well, as Australia is an island andour customs dept. are very strict we have been lucky to escape this (atleast for now) but I read in the paper a week or so ago that some UKlipsticks (and possibly other make up products) contain animal by productsand could very well harbour mad cow Ekkkkkk!!! sorry to pass this littlegem along.

I'm not. I've just decided to give up bars, no way is beef going

too, I love it too much. Someone a lot closer than Great Britain is

going to have to drop dead first!

Someone on the paleo list (www.paleodiet.com) mentioned that mad cow is

hyped up in the media to get people to stop buying meat and instead buy

higher profit items like cereals, breads, processed foods.

We have a bigger chance of winning the lottery than we do of being affected

by mad cow disease. If in Britain where it is as rampant as it gets, there

have only been 88-95 (depending on source) deaths in the past 6 years.

It doesn't concern me in the least in North America now. In Europe or any

country where there are legitimate concerns, I might be more cautious, but

even then... I'd probably still eat my steak :)
