Isocort is a glandular. made from the adrenal glands of cows possibly. The

Cortef is actually the real deal - the real hormone - hydrocortisone.

Isocort is dessicated sheep adrenal. You get some of all the adrenal

hormones, not just hc. Read about it at www.vitaminmd.com/isocort.htm .

It doesn't require a prescription. I believe cortef does. I can't

remember if cortef is taken only once a day, but isocort must be taken

twice a day. I don't know which, if either is best.

Blessings,

Debbie K.

from my readings, on this list over the past month or so, it seems the

cortef/delta is a little more " potent " than isocort. some people may do fine on

the isocort while others simply need the extra *zing* of the cortef/delta.

usually, isocort will take longer to show up in affecting symptoms while the

cortisone meds seem to work more quickly.

Zerasclair, check out the ADRENAL folder in the FILES section. There

is info inside which explains the differences, too. Debbie is

correct about Isocort, but you do need to take about 8 of the tabs a

day to get the recommended 20 mg. of cortisone.
