Guest guest
I had the same experience (no cottage-cheese discharge with yeast infections) for many years. Plus, I'd experience the symptoms worse than most other patients with yeast infections. Even my yeast culture wasn't growing as profusely as others' with yeast infections (my doc showed me the cultures) but my symptoms were still worse than everyone else's. But using the Monistat, eventually moving on to Terrazol and then to Vagistat-1 helped to control the vaginal yeast. I also used homeopathic yeast vaginal suppositories, acidophilus douches (made my own and sometimes added colloidal silver, which has anti-bacterial properties) and boric acid suppositories to control vaginal yeast. (BTW, I used coconut oil with boric acid and it didn't irritate my vulva like when I used it without the coconut oil.) My guess is that the years of experiencing atypical discharge, recurrent infections and over-reaction (symptoms worse even though the infection wasn't that bad) had to do with a systemic yeast problem. After doing alot of candida detoxes, colonics, taking probiotic supplements and anti-yeast diet, I feel that it's finally gotten under control. Guest guest
Yes to whoever asked whether you can have a yeast infection with no or unusual symptoms. I had never had a yeast infection before and had no idea what to look for (I expected the thick discharge as well) so who knows how long I actually had one and didn't know? After the other treatments didn't work, the specialist did more tests and told me I had an atypical infection. He said that you have an atypical infection especially if there is no discharge- because it's symbolic of a different type of infection altogether that most over- the-counter products won't cure. Also the area outside my vagina was swollen and he said this is another symptom of yeast. Still I don't know if these meds are really helping...my symptoms are better with the Gynazole but not gone altogether. And this indicates to me that something bigger is going on (like allergy or food/gluten intolerence) Hope that helps you out! Guest guest
Hi Miranda You say you didn't have the thick discharge, but you did have a swollen vulva. Did you have the itch? ((Oh, and thank you for helping me with this.)) I don't even have the nagging itch that everyone says drives them crazy, just an occassional slight itch here and there. Does this sound familliar to you? Are you sure it was yeast causing the symptoms and not some other type of bacteria? Sorry for all of the questions, I'm just so confused with this. I've been with my personal beliefe, for many years, that this is not a symptom of yeast (swollen vulva), but something much different, cuz yeast meds seemed to make the burn and swelling much worse, NOT better. But then, I usually had a mixed infection that included bacteria as well, so it just made it that much more difficult to figure out. gby wavemiranda wrote: Yes to whoever asked whether you can have a yeast infection with no or unusual symptoms. Guest guest
Lily, hi! did you have the irritating itch that accompanies most yeast infections? I can't use coconut oil, cuz I'm allergic to coconut, but thanks for that tip. do you still have the vulvar swelling, if you don't mind my asking, or has that went away? this is my main complaint right now. it's driving me crazy!!! nothing makes it go away, ever! not even the things that seem to help with the discharge. thanks, gbyLilyIshii@... wrote: I had the same experience (no cottage-cheese discharge with yeast infections) for many years.
