Like a lot of things, it depends on the individual and the reason for taking

it. The studies I have seen (sorry, I don't have the references handy)

indicate that 300 - 600 mg./day (particularly combined with an oil like

evening

primrose) is useful for reducing the likelihood of neuropathy (and,

sometimes

reversing damage already done).

On the other hand, doses of 1200 to 2400 mg./day are generally the

therapeutic levels required to significantly decrease insulin resistance.

Note that some people will not get the insulin resistance reduction even

at these levels, and some get a significant effect at much lower doses.

Test,

test, test.
