Guest guest
For those who suffer from: Vulvodynia or Interstitial Cystitis How did we learn that 100% Pure Emu Oil could help with the symptoms of Vulvodynia? Why would 100% Pure Emu Oil help with the discomfort/excruciating pain of vulvodynia? How do I use the 100% Pure Emu Oil? What about taking Emu Oil as a Gel-Cap? How did we learn that 100% Pure Emu Oil could help with the symptoms of Vulvodynia? I first learned of vulvodynia in February of 2001, from a customer and VPF member here in Hamilton, Montana. She had purchased the 100% Pure Emu Oil from me at the Farmer’s Market and liked it so well, for its soothing qualities, that she tried using it in the region of her vulvar pain. It helped relieve her symptoms almost immediately, and she continued to use it, along with the recommended low-oxalate diet, the timed release Calcium citrate, and other treatments with a great degree of success. She introduced it to members of her VP support group who also tried using it, again with great success for its soothing properties.Since that time, I have been contacted by over 1200 members1 of the VP Foundation, or women referred because they have symptoms similar to those of the members. Only 23 women have responded that they were unable to use the 100% Pure Emu Oil for vulvar pain because of a “burning sensation”, and 12 of those women informed me that at a later date they were able to tolerate it without any burning sensation.2(Back to Top)Why would 100% Pure Emu Oil help with the discomfort/excruciating pain of vulvodynia?100% Pure Emu Oil consists of seven fatty acids, including the Omega 3 (linolenic) fatty acid and the Omega 6 (linoleic) fatty acid, in amounts relatively similar to the amount required by human skin cells. Emu Oil is known to have an anti-inflammatory effect on damaged tissue, with some natural pain-relieving properties and anti-itching properties. Emu Oil is a light oil, penetrating almost immediately to the basal cell layer where new skin cells are formed. It tightens the new cell membrane and nourishes the cells. If used consistently over a period of time (e.g. 4-6 weeks), as this layer surfaces to become the outer layer of skin, it facilitates thickening of the skin, with more resistance to drying, thinning, chafing, cracking, and line formation. In studies performed on skin that had thinned in the elderly, the use of 100% Pure Emu Oil showed the skin became 2x-4x thicker, or 14% thicker. Thicker skin (more layers of skin cells) allows more protection with subsequently less damage. (Back to Top)How do I use the 100% Pure Emu Oil?Of course, as with any over-the-counter cream or lotion, consult with your doctor before trying a new product when you are diagnosed with vulvodynia. Emu Oil is a very small molecule which spreads readily on the skin; therefore, only a very small amount is necessary for each application. For first time use, I suggest washing the hands and gently cleansing the skin in the region, putting one drop of 100% Pure Emu Oil on a finger tip and touching it with the thumb, so now only one-half drop is available. Just touch the painful tissue with this half drop, but don’t spread it. Wait 5-10 minutes to see if there is any burning sensation. If there is, discontinue use until a later time, and consult with your doctor. If there is no discomfort, try one drop, spreading it on the affected tissue, and note any effect. It is practical to use once in the morning and once in the evening, but 100% Pure Emu Oil can be applied as often as is practical and necessary for relief.(Back to Top)What about taking Emu Oil as a Gel-Cap?Many women (approximately 250 of my customers) are taking 100% Pure Emu Oil internally, as a Gel-Cap, for various health problems. While no official clinical studies have been performed, the anecdotal reports have been favorable for improved energy, mental outlook, digestion, and healthier skin, hair, and nails. In what other ways has 100% Pure Emu Oil been helpful?Doctors are increasingly prescribing Estrogen compounded in a base of 100% Pure Emu Oil because of negative side effects from some components of the more traditional Estrogen creams (Estrace). Twelve Pharmacies have requested 100% Pure Emu Oil for the specific purpose of using it as a compounding agent for Estrogen.3 I do not always have a differentiating diagnosis of interstitial cystitis, so it is possible that a small number of these women suffer from interstitial cystitis instead of vulvar pain. Over 100 women with IC informed me that they were trying the Emu Oil for their symptoms, with a lower degree of success, but still showing definite improvement from pain and external symptoms of irritation. To date, 374 women did not respond either negatively or with a successful report, and it is quite possible that many of these women also experienced a “burning sensation” upon applying the 100% Pure Emu Oil. However, it is also possible that they were able to locate a source of Emu Oil near their hometown, and are able to successfully use Emu Oil for relief of their symptoms. Contact me for the name of the Pharmacy nearest you. They are located in: California, Colorado (X2), Florida, Illinois, land, Massachusetts, and Montana http://www.wildroseemu.com/vp.html#What_about_taking_Emu_Oil_as_a_Gel-Cap_
