yes, they are easy to cut

hydrocortisone

For those of you using hydrocortisone for your adrenals...do you get the 20 mg

tablets and split them into 4 pieces? It looks like that is the only size

Myrxforless has.

Thanks,

Shelli

Oh, another question about the hydrocoritsone...does it affect sleep, like if I

take the last dose of the day close to bedtime will it keep me up? How long

should I figure on being on this?

I suffer with sleep probs anyway, so I make sure I take my last dose before 4pm.

As for how long - well Peatfield says in his book anything from a few weeks to a

few months depending on the person and how bad the adrenals are to begin with.

I have been on it since November and am nowhere near good enough to even think

about coming off it.

So about times do you take them? I'm assuming you feel better on it so how can

you tell you're nowhere near ready to come off? I'm just thinking one may not

know until they try to come off and start to feel badly again.

Thanks.

I take the first one as soon as I get out of bed and then the others 3 - 4 hours

apart (I'm an early riser though!)

One of the symptoms of adrenal fatigue is low erratic temperature which I still

have, so that's why I say I am not ready to come off this treatment.

I have heard that when you are ready to come off it is best to decrease the dose

slowly.

Oh, ok. That makes sense about the temperature. I've read that too about coming

off slowly. I wonder how slowly.

Thanks!

Shelli,

Dr. Jeffries says that some people do better taking the last dose at bedtime and

others say it keeps them awake. It's a personal thing. But it helped my sleep

immensely. I took my last dose in the afternoon.

I can't remember specifically how long it's recommended. HOpefully someone has

already told you this. But it seems like something like 6 months to 2 years. I

was on it 9 months. But that's because my doctor didn't really know what he was

doing and got nervous. Long story. LOL

in Va.
