Guest guest
I had a consultation with a laser surgeon in Chicago a while ago. I got his name from an article in the July 1997 issue of self magazine entitled, " Laser Surgery Before 40 " . There were 10 doctors listed " regarded as among the top clinical practitioners in the field of laser surgery " . He must be in high demand because I think it took about 5 months to get into see him. At the time I went I wasn't very educated about different lasers. I have notes from the consultation that say I have two options the 1st must be pulsed dye laser because it refers to the bruising the 2nd option said something like I would look like I just ran up the empire state building, I believe that was the photoderm. I have to see if I can find them because I don't remember much else. He did say I may need the treatment again in a couple years, which was a major bummer! I didn't pursue the laser thing because until I get the rosacea under control I figure why bother, new vessels will just keep breaking. The fee was $400 for the treatments. He was nice but he said something like I'd like to tell you after the treatments it won't get bad again, but it could get worse and worse and worse. Okay, that's fair and realistic, but a downer!! Lasers don't cure rosacea, but they do help. He said if I got the treatment it definitely would tone down the redness.
